Low running costs and excellent quality are assured with Uniform's Chieftain G2 flat-bed printer

Press release from the issuing company

The latest addition to the Uniform portfolio of wide-format ink-jet printers is the versatile Chieftain G2 which is designed to offer both flat-bed and roll-to-roll printing options. This new sensibly priced machine from B&P Graphic Systems uses UV-curable ink technology and is available in two sizes of 1.6 m and 2.5 m. In common with the other members of the Uniform family, the Chieftain provides a good ROI, combining versatility in operation and quality results. Its cost-effectiveness can be quantified by the fact that Uniform has calculated that, with its UV-curable inks, this machine's output equates at around 50 pence for every square m printed. The Uniform Chieftain offers high quality output using six colours (CMYKLcLm) plus the option of pre- and post-white printing and a gloss UV varnish. Utilising eight Spectra Nova print-heads with 256 individually addressable inline nozzles, this machine outputs direct to a broad range of rigid substrates up to 50 mm thick, including display panels and foam-boards, glass, plastics, wood and metals in addition to all types of roll-fed media. The inclusion of the white ink as standard means that it is easy to print onto coloured materials. Productivity is enhanced with the inclusion of a rapid changeover facility from flat-bed to roll-to-roll output plus print status "traffic lights" for unattended operation. A dual board capability means that different images can be queued and output concurrently, and the Uniform Chieftain can also produce edge-to-edge prints. With a maximum resolution of 725 dpi and poster quality throughput speeds of up to 30 70 x 100 cm boards on the 2.5 m version and 22 70 x 100 cm boards on the 1.6 m model, the Uniform Chieftain's UV-curable output is dry instantly. The UV-curing system uses two mercury lamps with a choice of settings, and these are very easy to replace by the user, thus saving on down-time and unnecessary service call-outs. Available from B&P Graphic Systems, the Uniform Chieftain is designed to appeal to any user wanting a sensibly priced printer which produces vibrant high quality prints.
