Printable Technolgoes Exhibiting Enhanced VDP and Web to Print Products at ONDEMAND Expo

Press release from the issuing company

May 16, 2006 -- Printable Technologies, Inc., the world leader in Web to Print (W2P) workflow and Variable Data Printing (VDP) solutions, will be demonstrating new and enhanced products at ON DEMAND Conference and Expo, Philadelphia Convention Center, Philadelphia, PA, from Tuesday, May 16, through Thursday, May 18. Web to Print Solutions – PrintOne Store 6.0 - Flexible e-commerce and production workflow. Scalable to thousands of items and tens of thousands of end users, PrintOne Store offers secure online access to branded catalogs of static, versioned, and variable documents, ad specialties, and inventoried items. New features and functionality include: New User Interface – The default look and feel of PrintOne Store has been significantly upgraded. Space on the page is more effectively used and the entire look is updated. Built-in catalog browsing options include tree view, list view and grid view. New Retail-like Workflow – Online ordering is common practice, and the PrintOne Store presents a familiar retail-like experience including shopping carts and shipping method selection. Language Localization – PrintOne Store is available in English, German, Italian, Spanish, French and Dutch. In addition, default text on the site can be customized or localized as well. Quick Order – Products can be added to an order by simply selecting the item from the list, entering a quantity, and choosing “Add to Cart” in a process that is much streamlined over previous PrintOne versions. Kitting – Service providers may now offer product “kits” comprised of static print on demand, inventoried items, and/or customized items. Text Profile Attributes and Impersonation – By creating profile attributes, users can store both text and images in a profile and simplify the customization of printed products in the future. Rather than having to enter the same information over and over, the profile populates the order form. Access control to profile attributes can be configured so that individual fields can be defined as editable or not. In addition, PrintOne administrative users can “impersonate” other users to allow "ordering by proxy." Address Books – PrintOne Store 6.0 users can construct both Corporate and Personal Address Books. Corporate Address Books provide end users with access to corporate directories for shipping and billing, and Personal Address Books manage individual users’ own locations and billing information. PrintOne Dashboard, the online control panel into which a full range of components are integrated, allows service providers to control access, orders, RFQs, job specs, file transfer, reports, and administrative tasks. PrintOne Manager, with which service providers can create, activate, and maintain branded PrintOne Stores and Dashboards. Add-on Modules Online List Purchase allows users purchase, download, and merge mailing lists from AccuData America’s data and mailing list service during the order process for printed products. AccuData America, the world’s largest provider of multi-source, compiled data and database marketing solutions, offers a broad range of highly customized lists for business to business and consumer direct marketing. JobExpress is a driver-based PDF creation and job submission module integrated into the PrintOne Store. The JobExpress print driver allows end-users to create and submit jobs from any application by simply selecting the application print function from the File/Print menu. Variable Data Printing Solutions - FusionPro 3.2 - powerful desktop and server applications for sophisticated 1:1 marketing and direct mail. New features include: Imposition enhancement to bleeds handling which allows users to specify the finished size of the piece (crop area) and the bleed; the settings will override the actual size of the PDF template. Jobs “built to bleed” can be imposed with crop marks at the designer’s intended locations. HP JLYT output print stream that drives all Indigo presses, the ninth print data stream included in the FusionPro products. User interface available in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish on both Mac OS and PC. Backward-compatibility with FusionPro templates developed in all previous versions. FusionPro Server, suited for high-volume hands-off print production, is the core composition engine of the FusionPro family of VDP solutions. FusionPro Server includes the DL Queue Scheduler API for FusionPro Server job submissions, the DIF API template API for programmatic modification of FusionPro template files, and the PDF2Image utility for generating raster images of PDF documents for online preview. FusionPro Web leverages existing print projects and turns them into managed “modify, reuse, and repeat” print programs where print buyers typeset and proof their own jobs in the PrintOne Store. FusionPro Desktop is a free-standing variable data printing (VDP) solution that incorporates design, data definition, and document creation in one package. FusionPro Desktop is supports an Adobe PDF workflow including document composition from Quark, InDesign, or any PDF document and produces nine different output formats, all included. Templates created with FusionPro Desktop are compatible with FusionPro Server. FusionPro Desktop sells for $399 and is backed by e-mail product support, access to a knowledge base that includes a library of detailed JavaScripts, and peer support through the FusionPro User Forum. FusionPro Desktop with full telephone product support is priced at $599.
