Wednesday, May 17, 2006

Press release from the issuing company

PHILADELPHIA--May 16, 2006-- xpedx today announced a new HP-branded line of coated printing papers made in the USA for HP Indigo presses. The new papers together with the HP-branded uncoated papers are now available to printers with quick delivery via 105 xpedx locations nationwide. The premium quality, USA-made HP Indigo Printing Paper line is specially manufactured to run on HP Indigo commercial sheet-fed presses. The eight coated gloss and dull cover and text weight papers as well as five premium uncoated text and cover papers come "ready to run" without special handling or treatments. xpedx is North America's largest distributor of printing papers and graphics supplies and equipment. It does business with the majority of commercial and in-plant printers in the U.S. "Printers who use HP Indigo presses have high standards for quality," said Joe Ranson, vice president of marketing for printing papers at xpedx "These world-class papers deliver exceptional print quality, sheet-to-sheet consistency and maximum productivity." Demand is growing for HP-branded papers, the printer's choice for HP Indigo presses. The growth is a result of two main factors: printers selling more high-quality short run color from their HP Indigo presses as well as growth in the number of HP press installations. Users of these presses are primarily commercial print shops, in-plant printers and print fulfillment companies serving the book publishing and direct mail industries in the U.S. Details on HP Indigo Printing Paper line from xpedx A new swatchbook is available from xpedx, highlighting the superior color reproduction and sheet-to-sheet integrity of HP Indigo Printing Paper. Performance assured and 100% backed by HP, the HP Indigo Printing Paper has been evaluated and certified by the Rochester Institute of Technology, the respected independent teaching and research facility housing HP Indigo's latest technology. HP branded media must meet rigid performance criteria to get the RIT/HP seal of approval. With superior whiteness and smoothness, HP Indigo Printing Paper is engineered to provide optimum results on the HP Indigo commercial presses. Reliable and readily available through xpedx, HP Indigo's new coated paper portfolio delivers quality, consistency and true offset quality digital printing. The papers are produced in accordance with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) guidelines. xpedx has improved the supply chain and related support for the HP Indigo Printing Paper line to better meet customer needs. In addition to quick deliveries from local xpedx locations across the U.S., strong demand has prompted xpedx to offer small quantity orders via immediate FedEx shipments. These are available at the xpedx online resource for graphics professionals, suiteshoponline.com.
