Venlo, the Netherlands, 12 May 2006 — Oce has introduced a new line of machine coated papers that further enhance the offset 'look & feel' of the Océ digital printing technology. This means professional printers can achieve digital printing results even closer to the high offset quality they are used to. The new Océ Top Coated Pro Media offer excellent runnability in Océ digital printing systems, allowing printers to use machine coated papers for digital printing without risk of paper jams. Offset 'look & feel' with excellent runnability Océ Top Coated Pro Media has been designed specifically for use in the Océ systems using the Océ Copy Press technology, but is also ideally suited for use in many other digital printing and copying system types. For the first time this special new paper grade gives excellent runnability — in other words freedom from the paper jams that printers have often experienced when using machine coated paper in digital systems. This means they can now use their preferred machine coated paper grades with confidence for digital printing. Meets professional digital printing demands The new Océ Top Coated Pro Media has been developed by the Océ Supplies Knowledge Centre, based on its extensive expertise in printing media, applications and systems. The result is a choice of machine coated papers that meet the demands of today's professional printers. These are increasingly adopting digital printing as their 'standard' to produce smaller runs and to enable them to meet their customers' needs for short delivery times. Ability to use offset finishing techniques Océ Top Coated Pro Media not only provides excellent digital printing results, it also allows many of the standard offset finishing techniques to be used, making a further contribution to the desired offset 'look & feel'. These include surface finishing techniques such as spot UV varnishing, matt and gloss lamination and silver foil stamping, as well as mechanical processes such as die cutting, folding, embossing and perforation. Wide choice of grades and sizes Océ Top Coated Pro Media is available in a wide range of grades, gram weights and sizes to cover all the standard digital printing applications. It is available with glossy or silk finish, and as single- or double-sided machine coated. Sizes range from standard A4 right up to A3+. Available gram weights are from 115 to 210 g/m2. All grades have high opacity for double-sided printing. Océ Top Coated Pro Media is completely Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF), enabling printers to combine excellent results with the appropriate care for the environment. All Océ Top Coated Pro Media grades are produced under stringent Océ quality monitoring, ensuring constant compliance with the defined specifications for the assurance of trouble-free runnability with every batch.
