Press release from the issuing company

GRANDVILLE, Mich.--May 12, 2006-- X-Rite, Incorporated, a global leader in color-management technology, received the President's "E Star" Award for outstanding performance in increasing exports. The award was presented by U.S. Congressman Vern Ehlers of Michigan and Deputy Director General, U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Department of Commerce, Tom McGinty. In 2003, X-Rite received the President's "E" Award, recognizing four consecutive years of growth in international sales (1998-2001). The most recent award recognizes continued export growth over the subsequent three years (2002-2004). X-Rite's exports increased from 33.8 percent of sales in 1998 to 46.9 percent in 2004. "The "E Star" Award is the highest exporting honor a company can receive," says Director, U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Department of Commerce, Grand Rapids, Mich., Thomas Maguire. "In essence, it is a recognition of superior and sustained achievement from the President of the United States - and that's quite a compliment." X-Rite serves more than 100 countries from its 20 offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas. The company's website and internal newsletter are translated into nine languages - English, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese. "We're committed to supporting a global culture at X-Rite, one that keeps employees in touch and makes the other side of the world seem like it's just around the corner," says X-Rite CEO, Michael C. Ferrara. "Our diverse language skills help make our international customers feel right at home."
