AnyDoc Software Announces Innovative New Document Classification and Workflow Solutions

Press release from the issuing company

TAMPA, Fla. – May 10, 2006 – AnyDoc Software, a leading provider of automated document and data capture solutions, announced today an innovative new document classification solution residing in a dynamic new workflow development platform – AnyDocCLASSIFY, powered by Apptivity. AnyDoc CLASSIFY eliminates the need for organizations to spend countless hours pre-sorting their documents before they are processed by a document and data capture application such as AnyDoc’s award-winning product, OCR for AnyDoc. Users simply scan their documents, and AnyDoc CLASSIFY automatically performs OCR data extraction on the document images, identifies their document types and any document sets (all pages related to a single document), then routes the document images wherever they need to go. AnyDoc CLASSIFY allows users to define whether to route their document images to specified directories for access and review by other employees or to another application such as OCR for AnyDoc for data verification and delivery to their backend systems. “By allowing companies to side-step the pre-sorting process, AnyDoc CLASSIFY’s comprehensive document classification capabilities accelerate the entry of an organization’s critical document-based data into the ECM or ERP system,” said Charles W. Jackson, president of AnyDoc Software. “We are excited by the tremendous potential AnyDoc CLASSIFY has for organizations wishing to save time and money as they turn their documents into workable data.” The foundation for AnyDoc CLASSIFY is Apptivity, AnyDoc Software’s new workflow development platform. Apptivity provides an intuitive interface and easy-to-use processing tools to offer users the ability to customize their entire document workflow process, all within a single software workflow. The tools facilitate the capture, optimization, OCR extraction, classification (using AnyDoc CLASSIFY) and flow of document images and data throughout the workflow process. The tools also allow keyword data searches within document images; identify document types automatically using a database of multiple document types; reorganize the page order of document sets; and perform database lookups to auto-populate data fields. The parameters that drive these tools are defined with simple data entry fields and drop-down list menus. Apptivity optionally integrates with other AnyDoc products and solutions, including AnyDocCAPTUREit, OCR for AnyDoc, and AnyDocBROKERit, which have all been tightly interfaced with Apptivity. It also easily interfaces to other AnyDoc related products and vertical solutions including AnyDocINVOICE, AnyDocREMIT, AnyDocEOB, and AnyDocCLAIM. By adding CAPTUREit to scan images at the front end of an Apptivity workflow and allowing OCR for AnyDoc to also do the back end for data verification, an organization has a complete, robust document and data processing solution. With CAPTUREit, organizations can scan their documents – either locally or remotely at branch offices – and capture the document images from them. After Apptivity optionally performs full-page OCR on these images, it can then classify the document types of the images if desired (with AnyDoc CLASSIFY), and exports the images and data to OCR for AnyDoc. OCR for AnyDoc allows data verification by a human operator, then prepares the document images and the data for transfer into the organization’s backend content management system. The result of this combination is a fully comprehensive, paper-to-enterprise document workflow solution. Apptivity optionally integrates with third-party tools, allowing them to be “dropped in” and incorporated into defined workflows. By adding third-party tools for a document management system, for example, an organization can import document images from the system, have Apptivity perform document classification on the images (through AnyDoc CLASSIFY), and export them back into the system, in directories defined by document type. “Finally, all of an organization’s business applications can be defined within a single platform,” Jackson declared. “Imagine the ability to construct a complete, beginning-to-end data capture workflow process, all contained within one simple GUI interface. Apptivity makes that a reality.” AnyDoc Software will premiere AnyDocCLASSIFY, powered by Apptivity, at the 2006 AIIM Expo in Philadelphia, Pa. from May 16-18, in booth #525.
