DuPont selects Eye-One Pro as Preferred Color Measurement Device for 2 Systems

Press release from the issuing company

Regensdorf, Switzerland, and New Windsor, NY, USA, May 2006 -- Sustaining its continuous commitment to the professional proofing market, DuPont recently announced an extension to its partnership with GretagMacbeth, the worldwide innovation and technology leader in color measurement and management solutions, by selecting the Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer as the color measurement instrument of choice for its new digital proofing and UV Cure printing system, DuPont Cromalin Largo and DuPont Cromaprint 22UV. DuPont currently embeds the Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer into the Cromalin b series and new Cromalin blue proofing solutions to enable automated robotic calibration, delivering major color measurement and accuracy improvements. DuPont also continues to drive its DuPont iCertification for color verification of color in local and remote proofing with the Eye-One Pro device. In the highly competitive world of brands, reproducing specified colors is a necessity, with the value of color accuracy having a direct correlation to business success. The DuPont color management technology, in cooperation with GretagMacbeth instrument accuracy, addresses this strong market need to narrow color production tolerances to provide improved profitability and competitiveness to DuPont customers. Craig Reid, DuPont Global Marketing Manager, in making the announcement, said: “DuPont customers rely on our digital proofing and digital printing solution for consistent, repeatable color. To ensure they achieve the color they require, DuPont recommends the GretagMacbeth Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer as the measurement instrument of choice. The success of Cromalin b series, the first and so far only proofing systems in the market featuring an embedded robotic Eye-One spectrophotometer, coupled with our internal and field results, indicate Eye-One is the most reliable and flexible color measurement device available for this application. This announcement is another key milestone in continuing our long-term relationship with GretagMacbeth on a worldwide basis.” Iris Mangelschots, Vice President and General Manager of the GretagMacbeth Digital Imaging Business Unit, commenting on the selection, said: “We are extremely pleased that DuPont has expanded the use of the Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer to its new digital proofing and digital printing solution. This award reconfirms Eye-One‘s performance track record for proofing applications and demonstrates its clear leadership in the graphic arts industry with DuPont’s decision to include Eye-One in its large format printing applications. The relationship between DuPont and GretagMacbeth is well established, and the Eye-One spectrophotometer has long been an integral embedded component of the DuPont Cromalin b series proof engines. We look forward to a continued mutually productive relationship.”
