The Riverside Group Completes Installation Of EFI Logic

Press release from the issuing company

May 12, 2006 - Rochester, NY - The Riverside Group, a full-service binding and finishing services provider, has recently completed installation of the EFI Logic comprehensive plant management software system. EFI Logic is a management solution that seeks to integrate all production and business functions within a graphic arts facility, including estimating, accounting, order entry, shipping, purchasing, inventory control and finished goods. Installation took place over a span of several months, and included significant custom programming to optimize Logic for a full-service binding and finishing environment. Logic is designed to meet the workflow needs of a commercial printing company; The Riverside Group is one of the first trade binderies in the country to install and implement the Logic plant management solution, according to the company. Fred Daubert, President of The Riverside Group, said the installation of Logic will yield improvements that are tangible both internally and externally. “Every aspect of our operations will be more efficient with the Logic system,” said Daubert. “Detailed customer and job information will be available to both front office and floor personnel in real time. That allows us to respond more quickly and accurately to customer requests, and also allows us to be more proactive in communicating schedule changes to customers when they occur. Estimating speed will also improve significantly, as we extensively customized Logic’s estimating package to reflect our equipment and product mix.” As a full-service trade bindery with a complete range of in-house binding and finishing capabilities, Daubert said the implementation of the Logic system is a natural step in the evolution of The Riverside Group. “We have more than a hundred pieces of equipment capable of performing dozens of services, and many of the jobs we produce involve more than 20 individual production steps,” said Daubert. “As turnaround times get shorter and project complexity increases, a comprehensive plant management system such as Logic is almost a necessity.”
