Press release from the issuing company

May 10, 2006 - Citrus Heights, CA - RIPit, the primary workflow and CtP provider to the majority of quick printers and franchises in North America, today announces it will showcase an array of affordable, high-quality Computer-to-Plate (CtP) and RIP Workflow solutions at PrintFest 2006 in booth #531, from May 12-13. PrintFest attendees have the opportunity to see RIPit's SpeedSetter VM4, violet metal, 4-Up CtP system; award-winning OpenRIP Symphony workflow; and the company's popular in-line polyester platesetter solutions. "We are very excited to show our latest and most popular CtP and RIP workflow solutions to PrintFest 2006 attendees," says Wayne Wasulko, RIPit's President & Founder. "One of the reasons why we've been so successful is because we're focused on delivering the best solutions for small & mid-sized printers. We recognize that truly affordable, high-quality solutions will give them an edge in the marketplace. They need the most bang for the buck, and RIPit products are engineered specifically to give budget-conscious printers exactly that." Fast, Affordable, & Quality CtP and Workflow can use Variety of Plates with NO Consumable Contracts Required The SpeedSetter VM4 is available as a complete, turnkey CtP system which also includes RIPit's powerful OpenRIP Symphony core RIP, including imposition and trapping; and economical options for proofing and screening. Customers can also add a photopolymer plate processor. The VM4 is available immediately for a starting price of $52,500. No consumable contracts are required, and customers can choose from a variety of plates for use with the SpeedSetter. SpeedSetter VM4 is the big brother to the original SpeedSetter VM, 2-Up Violet Metal CtP platesetter. The VM4 was engineered using the same design principles as those applied to the SpeedSetter VM, already a proven, simple to use, reliable, and low cost workhorse - but now in a larger, 4-Up+ format. NEW: SpeedSetter VM-News Model The SpeedSetter VM-News version allows for an even larger plate size (panorama) to accommodate most double truck web press plates used by many newspapers, and a lower operating resolution for additional productivity where higher linescreen work is not a requirement. NEW: SpeedSetter VM-Plus - The SpeedSetter VM-Plus is the high productivity two-page version of the original SpeedSetter VM delivering 35 plates per hour at 2540 DPI for small format, high volume plate users. Pro Poly In-Line CtP with OpenRIP Workflow The Pro Poly 300 and 400 In-Line CtP Systems allow printers to take control of customers' digital files and output high-resolution polyester plates, film and color accurate proofs. Pro Poly CtP systems are driven by award-winning OpenRIP Symphony workflow that dramatically increases prepress production. In addition to controlling close to one hundred imagesetters, platesetters, printers, and plotters natively, OpenRIP can also control a wide range of PostScript and TIFF-in devices from a single interface. The 300 CtP Systems integrate a SpeedSetter 300 or 300x2 imagesetter; the 400 CtP Systems integrate a SpeedSetter 400 imagesetter, a custom bridge and a hinged vastech plate processor. RIPit Pro Poly CtP Systems are also available in a 2-Up portrait format.
