Canfield and Tack Installs Fifth Komori Press

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, May 9, 2006 -- Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced that Canfield and Tack, a commercial printing company based in Rochester, NY has recently installed a six-color Lithrone S40P with coater. This is the fifth Komori press for Canfield and Tack, an integrated service provider that meets the high-level marketing needs of clients such as Paychex, Constellation Brands, Corning, BlueCross BlueShield and Kodak. Because Canfield and Tack continues to grow at such a rapid rate, the intuitive efficiency of the LS40P is making it possible for the company to expand its service offerings and meet client demands for short-turnaround and high-quality four-, five- and six-color print applications. “We call ourselves a service organization because we spend a tremendous amount of time making sure we fully accommodate our customers. We lean toward the high-end side of printing,” said Gary Cvejic, vice president of manufacturing for Canfield and Tack. “Our new Komori makes it possible to accelerate our turnaround time due to its enhanced automation without sacrificing quality in any way. Everything about this press delivers—from its fully automatic plate changing system to the automated ink, blanket and impression cylinder cleaning. We can get jobs to bindery and out the door quicker than ever before. And they are beautiful. As a company, we continue to do business with Komori because we have had a tremendous experience with them—from the reliability of the equipment to the attentive service to comprehensive training, everything has been very positive.” In addition to its automated capabilities that provide a faster time to market, additional key drivers in the selection of the press included its ease of use and impressive color reproduction. Due to the advanced automated capabilities of the press, operators do not have to spend time on mundane tasks and can more readily meet the demands the company's short-run, fast-turnaround environment requires. Canfield and Tack prints applications that include point-of-sales materials for beverage companies, annual reports, sales collateral and high-end catalog work, all requiring high quality color. The Lithrone S40P gets to color and into register fast and offers the ability to do multicolor straight printing, perfecting process work and hybrid print jobs without compromising on performance or print quality. “The Lithrone S40P was developed expressly for profit-focused, customer-driven operations like Canfield and Tack,” said Ken Sabol, vice president of sales for Komori's Eastern Region. “Their significant growth can be traced to its ingrained culture of quality. We are very pleased that Komori presses add value to such an environment.”
