MCS Highlights Customer Profit and Revenue Enhancement at Mailcom

Press release from the issuing company

Atlantic City, NJ, May 9, 2006 – MCS, Inc., a leader in industrial and mailing inkjet technology, has brought three high profit mailing solutions for exhibition at Mailcom 2006. Each solution underscores MCS' theme of revenue and profit enhancement potential available for mail and letter shops through the use of inkjet and matching technologies. The mailing industry is experiencing an increase in demand – and higher prices – for both mailings that require automated matching of inserts and letters, as well as the ability to match inserted pieces with personalization of close-faced envelopes with high-quality inkjet printing. An application which is exclusively shown by MCS is the personalization of roll-fed input with a personalized letterhead, color signature and encoding of UV/IR invisible ink. The UV/IR invisible ink will allow the triggering of the MCS Perfect Match System for insertion into matched envelopes – without the need for a visible barcode on the piece. In addition to triggering the matched insert, the Perfect Match system enables personalization of closed-face envelopes with personalized street maps as well as addressing. Applications like this sell for a premium due to the increased value of each piece and the security of automated matching. In addition, mail shops recognize significant production increases due to automation, reduction of labor costs as well as lower envelope costs. Unique to this application is the illustration of printing direct mail directly from a roll input – while eliminating the process step (and associated costs) of laser printing. Mailing companies have seen that matching jobs can command significantly greater prices than other jobs. With the MCS Perfect Match technology, it is possible to have equipment payback within only a few months. MCS is showing the complete integration of the MCS Perfect Match system onto a Pitney Bowes FlowMaster system along with an MCS Array inkjet system. The Perfect Match incorporates MCS SecureTrack technology to incorporate data transport signals directly from the FlowMaster, as well as electronic linkages with up to 3 additional transport segments to provide 100% insert tracking through the insertion, turnover, printing and delivery into a sorter. MCS SecureTrack is the only system to integrate a matching system and inkjet technology within an integrated platform. MCS uses HP inkjet technology to achieve quality levels of 600 dpi with a variety of inks to handle multiple stocks. Commenting on the industry pressures to enhance profit and revenue, Dave Loos, President and CEO of MCS stated: ‘We're seeing more of our customers adopt this technology in order to add value to their offerings and enhance margins. We've seen no let-up in competitive pressure for mailers, and MCS is committed to helping them compete.”
