Heidelberg USA Announces New Product Installation Report

KENNESAW, Ga. - May 1, 2006 - Heidelberg USA announces the following sample of new product installations: AJ Printing & Graphics Improves Quality with Prosetter 52 from Heidelberg AJ Printing & Graphics, based in Santa Rosa, Calif., recently installed a Prosetter 52 computer-to-plate (CtP) device from Heidelberg to increase efficiency by transitioning from film processing. Since the installation, the shop reports faster makeready times and improved quality due to the new platesetter's accurate plate registration. The Prosetter 52 was installed alongside a 2-color Printmaster GTO 52 press and a POLAR 78 X high-speed cutter from Heidelberg. AJ Printing uses Heidelberg Consumables products, such as Saphira Violet plates and chemistry. Founded in 1978, AJ Printing & Graphics is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer. The shop services a wide variety of local and national clients, including high-tech companies, equipment manufacturers and the banking industry. Alpine Printing Boosts Profitability with Printmaster PM 52 Press from Heidelberg Alpine Printing, based in Arvada, Colo., recently installed a 4-color Printmaster PM 52 press with perfector from Heidelberg to increase efficiency in the short-run four-color market. The new PM 52 complements the shop's existing 4-color Speedmaster SM 74 press from Heidelberg. Since the installation, Alpine Printing reports increased profitability due to faster turnaround times and the PM 52's easy operation. The shop uses the new press to produce an assortment of materials, including brochures, direct mail pieces and newsletters. Founded in 1967, Alpine Printing is a privately-owned general commercial printer housing 12 employees. The shop services a wide variety of local and national clients. Crossmark Graphics Installs Speedmaster XL 105 Press from Heidelberg Crossmark Graphics, located in New Berlin, Wis., recently installed a 6-color Speedmaster XL 105 press with coater from Heidelberg to increase capacity and upgrade technology. Since the installation, the shop reports a 20 percent increase in productivity due to the XL 105's automation and features. Running the press at its maximum capacity of 18,000 sheets per hour, Crossmark also reports improvements in quality and efficiency. The shop uses the new press to produce an assortment of materials, including catalogs, posters and collateral pieces. Crossmark also credits its Heidelberg's systemservice 36plus service plan, which includes routine fitness checks and Web-based Remote Service, to helping increase productivity in the shop. Delta Printing Company Increases Efficiency with Suprasetter 105 from Heidelberg Delta Printing Company, located in Bogalusa, La., recently installed a Suprasetter 105 computer-to-plate (CtP) system from Heidelberg to streamline prepress operations. Since the installation, the shop reports increases in efficiency due to the Suprasetter's high levels of automation and cleaner plate-handling. The new CtP device complements the shop's existing Heidelberg equipment, which includes a 5-color Printmaster GTO-52 press and a 6-color Speedmaster CD 102 press with coater and Prinect Image Control. Since the installations, the all-Heidelberg shop reports a 50 percent reduction in makeready times due to the new press' automation and simple operation. Etheridge Printing uses the new press and bindery equipment to produce newsletters and high-end marketing materials, such as direct mail pieces. The shop takes advantage of Heidelberg's systemservice 36plus service program to ensure its equipment continues to operate at maximum performance levels. Installs Printmaster QM 46 Press from Heidelberg Faulstich Printing Co., located in Danville, Ill., recently installed a 2-color Printmaster QM 46 press from Heidelberg to replace an older press. Running the QM 46 at approximately 8,000 sheets per hour, the shop uses the new press to produce an assortment of materials, including envelopes, business cards, stationery and business forms. Faulstich Printing uses Heidelberg Consumables products, such as rollers and wash-up blades, to maximize results on the new press. Founded in 1932, Faulstich Printing Co. is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing 10 employees. The shop services a wide variety of local clients. The Franciscan Missions, Inc. Increases Efficiency with Printmaster PM 52 Press from Heidelberg The General Secretariat of the Franciscan Missions, Inc., located in Burlington, Wis., recently installed a 4-color Printmaster PM 52 press from Heidelberg to upgrade technology and increase efficiency. Since the installation, the shop reports increases in capacity and productivity due to faster makeready times. Averaging 55,000 impressions per day, the in-plant printer uses the new press to produce brochures, newsletters and greeting cards for the Franciscan Missions. The shop uses Heidelberg Consumables products, including Perfect Dot blankets. Founded in 1970, the in-plant shop at the Franciscan Missions, Inc. houses 15 employees. The non-profit shop primarily produces direct mail pieces for fundraising purposes. Hobby Lobby Printing Improves Quality with Prinect Solutions from Heidelberg The in-plant shop at Hobby Lobby, based in Oklahoma City, Okla., recently added a complete Prinect workflow system from Heidelberg, including Prinect Prinance and Prinect Image Control, to improve quality and streamline production. Since the installations, the shop reports greater accuracy in both cost estimating and color management. The in-plant printer credits the improvements to the high degree of connectivity that Prinect enables between prepress, press and postpress operations. L&M Pressworks Installs Prosetter 102, Prinect Solutions from Heidelberg L&M Pressworks, located in Denver, recently installed a Prosetter 102 computer-to-plate device (CtP) with single cassette loader (SCL) from Heidelberg to increase capacity. The shop also recently added Prinect Printready System and Prinect Prinance workflow systems to streamline prepress, press and postpress processes. Since the installation, L&M reports increases in speed and efficiency, enabling the shop to produce proofs within 24 hours on 95 percent of its jobs. The shop uses Heidelberg Consumables products, including Saphira Violet plates and chemistry, Saphira proofing paper, proofing inks and ink fountain foils and takes advantage of Heidelberg's systemservice offerings, including Web-based Remote Service. A combined venture between two Denver print shops - L&M Printing and The Pressworks - L&M Pressworks is a privately-owned general commercial printer housing 54 employees. Since the installation, the shop reports faster makeready times due to the new stitcher's simple operation. Added to complement the shop's all-Heidelberg prepress department and a 6-color Speedmaster CD 102 press with coater, the ST 400 also has enabled MOR Printing to increase bindery productivity while decreasing costs. The shop uses the stitcher to produce an assortment of materials, including books, magazines and 16-page jobs with envelope inserts. Founded in 1988, MOR Printing is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing 85 employees. The shop services primarily local clients in the cruise ship and advertising industries. Northwest Specialty Printing Installs Printmaster QM DI 46 Press from Heidelberg Northwest Specialty Printing, located in Springdale, Ark., recently installed a 4-color Printmaster QM DI 46 press from Heidelberg to increase efficiency and keep more work in-house. Since the installation, the shop reports faster turnaround times and increased cost-savings, making the shop more competitive in its market. The new press' simple operation and automation also have enabled Northwest to redistribute personnel to other areas of the shop. Northwest Specialty Printing purchased a Heidelberg Consumables package with the QM DI 46, including Perfect Dot blankets and ink fountain foils. The shop credits Heidelberg's systemservice 36plus service plan with keeping its new press in top condition, primarily due to quick response times and Heidelberg's knowledgeable service experts. O'Neil Printing Adds Stitchmaster ST 400 Stitcher, POLAR 137 X Cutter from Heidelberg O'Neil Printing, based in Phoenix, Ariz., recently installed a Stitchmaster ST 400 saddlestitcher and a POLAR 137 X high-speed cutter from Heidelberg to increase capacity. Since the installations, the shop reports that the new equipment's automation and speed have increased productivity in the bindery. The new ST 400 also has enabled O'Neil to meet increasing customer demand for saddlestitch binding. The new bindery solutions were installed to complement the shop's all-Heidelberg pressroom, which includes a 6-color Speedmaster CD 102 and an 8-color Speedmaster SM 102 with perfector. O'Neil uses the new stitcher and cutter to produce an assortment of materials, including catalogs, booklets, pricing guides, brochures, pocket folders, posters and business materials. Founded in 1908, O'Neil Printing is an employee-owned and operated general commercial printer housing 90 employees. The shop services a wide variety of clients in the healthcare, finance, recreation, government, corporate and graphic arts industries. PrintingforLess.com Increases Productivity with POLAR 115 XT Cutter from Heidelberg PrintingforLess.com, Inc., based in Livingston, Mont., recently installed a POLAR 115 XT high-speed cutter from Heidelberg to increase capacity in its bindery. The new cutter was added to optimize production in the all-Heidelberg shop's new facility, opening in May 2006. Since the installation, PrintingforLess.com reports increases in productivity and efficiency. The shop uses the new cutter primarily to cut parent stock. PrintingforLess.com also uses Heidelberg Consumables products, including Saphira Violet plates and chemistry, and takes advantage of Heidelberg's systemservice experts to keep its equipment running at maximum capacity. Seckman Printing Adds Suprasetter 105, Prinect Printready System to All-Heidelberg Shop Seckman Printing, based in Forest, Va., recently installed a Suprasetter 105 with multi-cassette loader (MCL) to increase speed and reduce job turn-around time in its prepress department. The shop also added Prinect Printready System to transition to a complete PDF workflow. Since the installations, the shop reports increases in productivity and seamless transitions from prepress, press and postpress due to the Suprasetter's fully-automated multi-cassette loader and Prinect's simple integration into its workflow. The shop also takes advantage of Heidelberg's Web-based Remote Service to ensure its equipment operates at maximum performance levels. The shop reports that the new QM 46 press has significantly improved quality and decreased makeready times, while the POLAR cutter has increased efficiency in its bindery. West Press uses the new equipment to produce an assortment of general commercial materials, such as letterhead, brochures, stationery, advertisements and packaging.
