Chromatech Printing Installs First Komori Press to Support Business Growth

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, April 27, 2006 -- Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced Chromatech Printing of St. Petersburg, Florida recently installed a Spica 29P to help its business evolve to the next level and compete with larger print operations. Designed to meet the need for quicker turnaround, lower costs and higher quality important to all small to mid-sized printers looking to move into larger four-color work, the Spica 29 offered Chromatech the affordable solution it was seeking to expand its business opportunities. "We needed to compete with larger operations to stay in business and Komori's Spica 29 was the answer," said George Emmanuel, vice president and co-owner of Chromatech. "A main consideration was price and Komori was the only company that helped us cost-justify the press. So many printers are trying to get into half-size and can't do it. The Spica is the only solution on the market today that allows a small company to move up affordably. Additionally, Komori's service and parts availability are outstanding. As a smaller business owner, you need someone in your corner, a company you can count on. When you are buying a press, you are really buying the whole company. As a partner, I give Komori five stars across the board." Beyond its affordable price, additional key drivers in the decision to buy the press included the Spica's advanced automation features that replicate the intuitive technology found in larger Komori presses, its single-touch panel that makes it efficient and easy for operators to use and its small footprint. Chromatech reports it can get on press in less than eight minutes due to the fast makeready capabilities that provide for a fully automatic mode changeover from four-color to single-side printing, extensive automation for reduced set-up times and an IT-driven design that makes it possible to implement advanced digital workflows. The compact design of the press was important to Chromatech as it did not have to adjust its facility in any way to accommodate it. "The Spica is the perfect solution for printers ready to move up and profit from the four-color market," said Ken Sabol, vice president of sales for Komori's Eastern Region. "Chromatech is an impressive and aggressive company that clearly understands what it takes to satisfy its customers and is willing to take the steps necessary to do so. We are pleased the Spica 29P is helping Chromatech achieve its goals and grow their business."
