KODAK THERMOFLEX Mid Hybrid Platesetter for Multiple Printing Technologies Offers Ultimate Flexibility

Press release from the issuing company

BIRMINGHAM, U.K., April 4—By combining digital flexographic and offset platemaking abilities, the KODAK THERMOFLEX Mid Hybrid platesetter offers printers outstanding flexibility for high quality printing on a wide variety of substrates. The THERMOFLEX Mid Hybrid platesetter offers a single solution for printers using multiple printing technologies or investing in combination presses to expand their service offerings. Kodak's hybrid CTP platesetter comes in two formats, the THERMOFLEX Narrow Hybrid and the THERMOFLEX Mid Hybrid, which Kodak is demonstrating at IPEX. “More printers than ever are combining flexo with offset printing to expand their service offerings,” said Bob Dalton, THERMOFLEX Product Manager, Kodak. “The THERMOFLEX Mid Hybrid platesetter offers these printers a choice that maximizes their investments because they can image offset, flexographic and letterpress plates, and film all on the same device.” The THERMOFLEX Mid Hybrid platesetter boasts industry leading technologies, such as HYPERFLEX resolution enhancement software for flexo to deliver high impact, repeatable print results. The THERMOFLEX platesetter architecture facilitates plate loading and unloading to minimize plate damage. Users can image plates up to a maximum size of 1106 x 1200 mm (40 x 47.24 in.) for flexo and 1000 x 1200 mm (30 x 47.24 in.) for offset plates. First introduced at Labelexpo Europe in September 2005, the THERMOFLEX Narrow Hybrid platesetter is ideal for narrow web printers and trade shops seeking high quality print results on a wide variety of substrates. Available in a multiple plate configuration, the THERMOFLEX Narrow Hybrid platesetter can easily load any plate size up to the maximum 762 x 762 mm (30 x 30 in.) for flexo and 762 x 744 mm (30 x 29 in.) for offset plates, and features the option of imaging multiple plates simultaneously. The product's small footprint, easy to use TIFF Front End software, and universal workflow connectivity make it an easy fit for any size operation. Kodak will demonstrate a fully integrated solution for optimized output at IPEX in Hall 5, Stand D70. Visitors to the Kodak stand will see the THERMOFLEX Mid-Hybrid platesetter running with the KODAK PRINERGY POWERPACK workflow system and the KODAK APPROVAL NX digital color imaging system.
