Henry E. Wurst Family Foundation Remains Committed to America's Youth

Apex, NC (April 6, 2006) – Founded in 1955 by the Wurst family, the Henry E. Wurst Family Foundation has made contributions for over 50 years for the betterment of the communities in which Henry Wurst, Inc. is located, emphasizing character building programs for youth to help them grow up to be good citizens and productive members of society. Since its inception, the foundation has contributed more than $2.5 million. Henry Wurst Inc., along with the Wurst family, helps fund these efforts. John Wurst serves both as Chairman of Henry Wurst, Inc. and the foundation. His wife of 50 years, Margaret Wurst, acts as Secretary for the foundation and handles the day-to-day responsibilities. The Henry E. Wurst Family Foundation gives to numerous organizations that in some way support children. Charities include the YMCA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Boys & Girls Clubs, The Salvation Army, and Special Olympics. In 2006, a significant percentage of foundation giving will be geared toward the Southern Platte County Athletic Association (SPCAA). The Henry E. Wurst Family Foundation is supporting SPCAA efforts to build a new youth sports facility in Kansas City, MO. The facility will be a youth community center for baseball, softball, and soccer. “The Wurst family has always been committed to our youth.
