Press release from the issuing company

VALHALLA, N.Y. (April 4, 2006) – Fujifilm will showcase a number of new solutions – as well as new equipment – during this year’s Nexpo 06, when the annual conference and trade show kicks off at Chicago’s McCormick Place convention center on April 1, 2006. Newspaper publishers will be able to “Start the Presses!” during the show with the industry’s best manufacturers, including Fujifilm and ECRM Imaging Systems, and experts will be on hand to construct customized, turnkey solutions for newspaper publishers. The solutions are available through Enovation Graphic Systems, which adds its extensive service and distribution network to Fujifilm’s expertise in plate and equipment manufacturing and to the best-in-class products and solutions from other industry manufacturers to offer complete and reliable solutions. During this year’s show, the company will debut the Fujifilm Saber News CTP systems, designed to help newspaper publishers bridge the gap between newspaper and commercial offset quality. Based on proven Saber Series technology for the commercial printing market, the Fujifilm Saber News CTP devices are reliable and highly productive CTP systems for the newspaper industry. With production speeds of up to 130 12 3/8” x 24” single plates per hour at 1016 dpi, or up to 107 24” x 23” panorama plates per hour at 1016 dpi, the Fujifilm Saber News CTP devices also feature twin laser exposure for productivity and redundancy as well as long life, low cost violet diodes. In addition to the new Fujifilm Saber News devices, the company will also be showing ECRM’s NEWSmatic CTP system. ECRM’s NEWSmatic CTP system follows the company’s passion to make CTP more widely available, by the delivery of quality, reliability and flexibility at an affordable price. The NEWSmatic is a fully automated newspaper CTP system, targeted at local and regional newspapers that require peak-time production and is capable of delivering up to 80 broadsheet plates per hour. The NEWSmatic also appeals to larger newspapers and contract printers, where multiple plate lines are commonly used to provide higher productivity. “We’re pleased to offer newspaper publishers better and more reliable options for their organizations,” says Tim Combs, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Enovation. “We’ve partnered with the industry’s best manufacturers to offer our customers the best equipment, consumables and solutions.” In addition to the Fujifilm and ECRM platesetting devices, Fujifilm’s Brillia LP-NNV newspaper plate will be on display during the show, running live on the Fujifilm Saber News. The Fujifilm Brillia LP-NNV violet newspaper plate boasts consistency, image stability and a long shelf life and also Fujifilm’s proprietary MG-MultiGrain technology that provides for outstanding printing efficiency, rich tone reproduction, long press life and trouble-free platemaking. The Fujifilm Brillia LP-NNV violet plate is a high-speed plate and is rated at 300,000 impressions. Its ability to produce dots ranging in size from 2% to 98% at 100 lpi makes it an excellent choice for even the most discerning newspaper publisher. In keeping with Fujifilm’s dedication to the environment, this violet plate also produces no silver effluent, further simplifying the plate-making process.
