IPEX 2006, Birmingham, UK (April 4, 2006) - Creo Print On-Demand Solutions Group (PODS) is showing live JDF-based integration with its workflow partners at the JDF pavilion at IPEX 2006. Creo PODS announces the completion of JDF integration with EMTEX VIP document workflow solutions, RSA WEBCRD, and APAGO CLUSTER WORKFLOW. These new partners join the successful CREO PODS workflow partnership program that certifies JDF integration of open, independent third-party solutions with the CREO PODS suite of digital colour servers. These new partners add value and freedom of choice for end-users of workflow, job submission and prepress. Creo PODS is an independent unit of Kodak's Graphic Communications Group. The Creo PODS group develops and supports high-performance digital colour servers for a range of digital printers and presses. CREO PODS digital colour servers drive production digital presses of industry-leading vendors, such as HP, IKON, Konica Minolta, and Xerox. The CREO PODS colour servers are dominant in print environments where workflow integration, high productivity, and job streaming are required. By leveraging the cooperative power of leading third-party software vendors, users can customise different print shop components from multiple vendors, yet be assured that these solutions will seamlessly connect with the CREO PODS colour servers. EMTEX VIP supports all leading data stream formats including IBM AFP, XEROX LCDS, HP PCL and ADOBE POSTSCRIPT and PDF. EMTEX VIP's integration with the CREO PODS colour servers enable end-users with proprietary print stream applications such as IBM AFP or XEROX LCDS/Metacode to easily and seamlessly send jobs to the CREO PODS digital colour server for automated processing. EMTEX VIP converts the incoming print streams to POSTSCRIPT, dynamically generates a JDF job ticket, and utilizes feedback for real-time job status from EMTEX VIP. RSA WEBCRD RSA WEBCRD from Rochester Software Associates is a portal to the print centre, delivering reliable enterprise-wide, web-based print-job submission and powerful job management. Orders can flow directly to production printers based on user-defined rules. WEBCRD is now fully integrated with Creo PODS's JDF-compliant colour server for a fully automated, standards-based workflow. JDF job ticketing is supported throughout the web submission and production process. Using WEBCRD integrated with the CREO PODS digital colour server, Print Center operators can leverage the power of the CREO PODS server and continue to rely on WEBCRD's powerful job production management tools, with full accounting of all jobs using the latest standards. APAGO CLUSTER WORKFLOW APAGO CLUSTER WORKFLOW is an innovative solution for creating reliable and highly scalable workflows for prepress, magazine and newspaper publishers, and printers. By efficiently managing the computing power of an entire network of servers, the APAGO CLUSTER WORKFLOW helps users remove real-world production bottlenecks. Rather than assigning specific tasks to individual servers, the workflow allows a server to perform any task as it becomes available. APAGO CLUSTER WORKFLOW includes modules that perform common prepress tasks such as PDF distilling, ripping, file conversion, preflighting and correction, variable data document assembly, ICC colour management, and cropping. Spire CXP8000 Server Version 2.0 Released The new version 2.0 of the Spire CXP8000 digital colour server is also being demonstrated at IPEX to show JDF and JMF support with third-party systems, such as MIS systems. Demonstrations include GretagMacbeth Eye-One colour management support. The CXP8000 version 2.0 provides complete workflow capabilities from creation through production.
