Montreal, Canada, March 30, 2006 Ultimate Technographics Inc, the leading imposition software developer and the inventor of digital imposition, is launching a new level of automated production for digital presses at IPEX with the release of Impostrip OnDemand Digital 5.0. Impostrip OnDemand Digital is the first imposition program to feature Dynamic Imposition, which means the ability to use a hot folder and templates independent of the page size. This means the user can drop A4 pages, letter pages and other sizes in the same hot folder without making different templates for each job. The user can also drop in jobs of different quantity of pages and the job will be automatically imposed. The workflow can be manual or automatic. Impostrip OnDemand Digital also features Repeating Booklets which allows a digital press user to use an inline folder and stapler to create a perfect bound book as a series of saddle stitched booklets. It also features automatic page creep calculation for each individual booklet. •Streamlining Variable Data Jobs Signature Group Printing allows users of digital presses to divide large variable data jobs and begin printing before the whole job is processed. This feature can be pre-set for the hot folder. This automation eliminates the time the digital press waits for the job to be delivered. This savings in time can be substantial with large VDP jobs. •Hot Folder more and more intelligent Hot Folder Controller for improved configuration and management of hot folder automation and a Hot Folder Activity Log to monitor progress of automated jobs. •JDF output, populated of nonpopulated for integration with JDF workflows for digital printing. •HP.imp layouts for HP-YTD for VDP. It also features built in PPDs for HP-Indigo presses. HP Indigo users also benefits from a new feature to save ink on the press with marks that only print on the black layer. Impostrip OnDemand has long been a leader in imposition with digital presses and small format CTP.
