Boise Garners Two Product Excellence Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Boise, Idaho, March 29 -- Boise Paper continues to set the standard for excellence in the paper industry as the company announced today that both its Printing & Imaging Papers Group and Converting Papers Group received top honors for producing high quality and high performing paper products. The awards are testament to Boise's mission to exceed customer and partner expectations by providing them with "The Boise Difference." Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), the nation's leading independent office products test lab and business consumer advocate, awarded Boise's Printing & Imaging Papers Group with its "2006 Performance Certified" seal of approval for the consistently outstanding performance of its Boise X-9(TM) 20-lb 8-1/2" x 11" Multipurpose Paper. It marked the second consecutive year that Boise won this award. Tension Envelope awarded Boise's Converting Papers Group with a "Citation of Excellence" for the performance of its envelope paper in Tension's plants in Oakland, CA and Temecula, CA. "As we move forward in 2006, across the board, we aim to provide our customers with 'The Boise Difference,'" said Vince Phelan, Boise Marketing Director. "These types of awards and certifications of excellence validate what we're doing and show that we consistently strive to produce the highest quality and most reliable paper products. These awards are truly a reflection of the hard work and ingenuity that is present everyday within our manufacturing facilities." Buyers Laboratory awarded Boise with its seal of approval after it conducted a 3,400,000-sheet test on a total of 70 different office document imaging devices (including copiers, printers, fax machines and multifunctional products) representing 20 different manufacturers. Boise's X-9(TM) paper passed with flying colors with virtually no misfeeding or double-sheeting, and no problems related to image quality, dusting or curl. Boise X-9(TM) paper was originally enhanced in 2003 with improvements that created a better running, better looking, and more substantial feeling sheet. Tension Envelope, based in Kansas City, MO, operates envelope-manufacturing plants nationwide. Two times a year the Tension plants complete and submit a "Citation for Excellence" worksheet in which suppliers are graded from one to ten in five categories: Product Quality, Customer Service Performance, Delivery Performance, Pricing/Invoicing Performance and Technical and Sales Support. After grades were tabulated, Boise was awarded with its "Citation of Excellence."
