Montreal, Canada, March 24, 2006 Ultimate Technographics Inc, the leading imposition software developer and the inventor of digital imposition, is pleased to announce the release of Impostrip V8.2 at IPEX in Birmingham, UK. Impostrip V8.2 brings imposition automation to a new level. The need for creating multiple templates for many different kinds of jobs is dramatically reduced because of Dynamic Templates that can be used with jobs that have different number of pages and different size pages. These Dynamic Templates can now be linked to hot folder automation in Impostrip. “Impostrip has a higher degree of automation and simplicity of use than any other imposition solution in the market,” explains Joanne David, Executive Vice President. “Thanks to Impostrip’s ability to run multi clients simultaneously, Impostrip offers the utmost in connectivity with MIS systems and prepress workflow.” Impostrip V8.2 is the first imposition program to combine both template based ganging of pages and objects, with interactive free-form ganging that can take place on screen so that the printer can get the exact geometry that they want, interactively with a preview of PDF or PS files. Impostrip V8.2 leads the pack with compatibility with the new Quark 7.0 and adds over 20 new features, some of those are: •CIP4 PPF generation for ink density using a plug-in to Acrobat 7. Automatic PPF generation with cutting and folding to other workflows that support JDF, PJTF, or Brisque ICF. PPF generation for PDF workflows with cutting, folding and ink density. •Enhanced PPD support to allow for up to 16 custom PPDs and printer setups to support automated workflow to multiple devices. Loading only the PPDs of the printers the user wants to use. •Cut and Stack collating and Step and Repeat of documents, not just individual elements. •User defined Collating Mark position and number ID for enhanced bindery capability. Mark Adjuster utility on OSX to apply permanent Marks preference like position, orientation, scale factor and anchor points to the custom and built-in marks. •Enhanced Color Bar Editor that now supports control of text line size, color and constant and variable values. Important when combining more than one job on a plate. •Option to change output file name. Use of Long File Names under OSX Tiger. Use of underscore characters in file names. •Use the PDF Media box for the JDF CTM value, which is a value that describes the page size. This is important for JDF workflows like: ApogeeX3 that monitor and use this value. •Automated PDF Bleed Control and Job Bleed Control as a preference. Automatic saving of all preference files. Automatic Page Centering with Page Scale. “After 18 years of doing imposition software, users are still coming up with great ideas to improve the imposition capabilities in the software,” explains David Watson, founder of Ultimate. “Impostrip is proud to say that its original development staff continues to energetically respond to those needs and find ingenious ways to simplify the application. Other products have stagnated in their development because they are only in maintenance mode by third and fourth generation programmers. Ultimate is dedicated to developing the features that users want and the productivity features that make their imposition workflow ever more efficient.” All of these new product enhancements are added to the industries only client/server imposition software that supports Dynamic Templates and Marks. Impostrip is available in multi-client version and a single client version. Client or Server can be on a Macintosh or a Windows machine. Ultimate will be demonstrating Impostrip V8.2 in the JDF Pavilion at IPEX. A fully working 5-day demo version can be downloaded at www.imposition.com.
