Lange Graphics Expands Format Size with new KBA Rapida 105 41-Inch Press

Press release from the issuing company

KBA North America, a leading supplier of sheetfed offset and digital presses based in Williston, VT, is announcing that Lange Graphics, a premier general commercial printer located in Denver, will be expanding its format size with the installation of a new KBA Rapida 105 41-inch six-color sheetfed press with aqueous, hybrid and full UV printing in April 2006. This will be the first KBA sheetfed offset press for Lange Graphics. “One of the key reasons for our continued growth has been our commitment to our customers,” says Bud Lange, president. “They rely on us for high quality, fast turnaround, and the ease of doing business with our company. Our customers needed larger work done beyond our small digital and half-size press formats. We decided to move into a larger press size to accommodate them.” Diligent research pointed to the Rapida 105 Before the 53-employee, family-run business took the major step to move up into the full-size press market, the firm diligently researched the 40-inch press equipment market for two years before deciding to purchase and install a new KBA Rapida 105 41-inch sheetfed press. Lange’s management team visited the Print 05 trade show and KBA’s headquarters for extensive press evaluation and testing as well as visiting KBA Rapida 105 printer customers. “KBA’s press equipment stood out above and beyond its competitors,” says Keith Lange, vice president of the firm. “Five reasons attracted us to the KBA press: •Declutching of every unit on press •KBA’s new unique mark-free vacuum side guide feature •The ability to control from the console all press manipulations and air flow •The ability to print on a variety of substrates, including 40 lb to 48 pt •The ability to apply both conventional aqueous coating, hybrid UV and full UV UV capability brings growth and uniqueness “We’ve had a lot of experience in printing on plastic and vinyl,” says Ed Lange. “We’ve built a healthy niche using our five-color 28” UV sheetfed offset press producing such work as surface-printed plastic cards, danglers and shelf talkers, vinyl binder skins, static cling displays, adhesive vinyl products, trading cards, plasticized metallic and foil board, and various point-of-purchase materials. Now we’ll be able to grow even further with the KBA Rapida 105 41-inch size with UV capability.” Serving the Denver metro area as well as the state of Colorado and national accounts, Lange Graphics produces a wide variety of award-winning sheetfed commercial printing including, pocket folders, annual reports, brochures, direct mail pieces, posters, art prints, greeting cards, point-of-purchase material, corporate print collateral, blister card packaging, and UV foil board printing. Over the years, Lange Graphics has garnered many prestigious awards. In 1999 at the Premier Print Awards in Chicago, Lange Graphics received the Best of Category “Benny” award for Special Innovation for its entry in the greeting card category. Lange’s entry, known as Bloomin Flowers Plant ‘Em They Grow greeting card, had wildflower seeds embedded in the paper.
