Friday, March 24, 2006

Press release from the issuing company

March 24, 2006 -- As the fastest growing press manufacturer in North America, KBA strives to ensure they are continually exceeding customer’s demands and the results are in----KBA customer satisfaction sits at an all-time high, according to a survey taken by KBA North America, a leading supplier of sheetfed offset and digital presses based in Williston, VT. Customers rank KBA highly for satisfaction in fast and easy installation, training, and service; wide choice of press models; and confidence in company management and long-term stability of the family-owned corporation. “Our goal at KBA is to ensure we remain a solid foundation for our customers to build upon and to continue developing presses that are the new standard in printing technology,” says Ralf Sammeck, president and CEO of KBA North America. “One of the key elements of continued growth is fulfilling your customer’s needs and expectations. As the oldest press manufacturer and a family-owned corporation, we are always striving to exceed our customer’s needs and provide stability and long-term outlook for our research and development.” Excellent reputation for state-of-the-art printing technology KBA customers praised the firm for its service, training, well-built machinery, and excellent reputation. Jeff Oles, vice president of manufacturing at Gibraltar Packaging Group says, “We researched other press manufacturers but KBA stood out from the others with its excellent reputation for well-built state-of-the-art printing technology. The press speeds and support capabilities from KBA were another key reason that became instrumental in our decision to choose KBA. Training and service are vital to the operation of our business. The servicing and remote maintenance of equipment is a vital link in maintaining and maximizing the output of equipment. We’ve had nothing but first-rate support from KBA.” Growing number of leading commercial printers choose KBA Award-winning, high-quality printer Los Angeles-based Lithographix Inc. had high praise for KBA. “Lithographix purchased a new KBA Rapida 205 81-inch press due to its outstanding current technology,” says George Wolden, senior vice president of manufacturing at Lithographix. “KBA's attention to detail, in terms of design and engineering, is extremely well thought out for a large format press.” Mainline Printing, a leading Midwest commercial and specialty printer located in Topeka, Kansas, installed a KBA Rapida 105 41-inch six-color press with coater and hybrid UV capabilities at its new 140,000 sq ft facility during the fall of 2004. The new Rapida 105 six-color press joins a KBA Rapida 105 seven-color press with coater purchased in the fall of 2002. “We bought the new KBA Rapida 105 41-inch six-color sheetfed press at Drupa 2004 with the intention of installing it in the fall at our brand-new facility,” relates John Parker, president of Mainline Printing. “KBA understood our time constriction and they were true partners in our move and our needs. They sent five mechanics and two electricians from Germany to help install the new press and disassemble our existing seven-color press at our former facility and move that press to our new facility. We’ve purchased presses from other manufacturers; nobody takes care of you like KBA.” When Mainline installed its first KBA press, the firm was not prepared for the care and support it received. "KBA’s whole support system, from the installation crew to the trainers to the local mechanics, has been unbelievable," says Parker. "Because they were so responsive, efficient, and proficient in their work, it took less than a month to get our first press up and running. We learned that KBA puts their installation crews through very rigorous training before they go out on the road to start to install presses. When they installed our second press, they worked very hard, regularly putting in 12 to 14 hour days. " World’s best-selling large-format press for well respected nationwide printer Allied Printing Services Inc., a large sheetfed and web commercial and financial printer serving customers nationwide and located in Manchester, Connecticut, installed a new KBA Rapida 142 56” six-color large format press with aqueous coating. This was Allied Printing’s first press from KBA North America. “We invited KBA to do a presentation for us and we were pleasantly surprised to learn about their technology, their diverse press line, and their strengths,” says John Sommers, president and CEO of Allied Printing, who operates the family-owned business along with his brother Gerry Sommers, executive vice president. “During the presentation we found out an interesting fact that KBA presses print 95% of the world’s currency. Then we went to Drupa 2004 to see their presses in action. We were very impressed. We also did not know that KBA presses are built by a team that follows the press to the printer’s installation site. That’s very unusual and we like that approach. This helps installing the press in a minimum of time.” On Demand Imaging., a Portsmouth, New Hampshire printer, installed a 74 Karat digital offset press with inline aqueous coater in the fall of 2004. Adams was extremely impressed with KBA’s service and training. “KBA flew the Karat in from Germany,” says Adams, “and their training was phenomenal. That’s especially important for a small firm like ours that needs to keep our presses up and running. Even today if we need help with the press, KBA will send a technician out for a week. I know from prior experience that that is not the case with other press manufacturers. KBA is a pleasure to deal with and their service and training are top-notch.” KBA North America is a leading supplier of sheetfed offset and digital presses located in Williston, VT. It is a member of the KBA Group, a leader in the manufacture of sheetfed offset, digital offset, web offset, rotogravure directory, security, and newspaper presses.
