Heidelberg Reinforces Commitment To The Direct Imaging Business

Press release from the issuing company

KENNESAW, Ga., March 21, 2006 – Heidelberg today reinforced its commitment to the direct imaging (DI) business, confirming that it will continue to provide remarketed presses, parts, service, RIP upgrades and consumables for the DI market. “Heidelberg remains committed to the DI market and especially to meeting the needs of our customers,” said Heidelberg USA President Jim Dunn. “We will continue to deliver solutions and technologies to equip printers for success as well as the quality service and support our customers depend on in today’s competitive marketplace.” Heidelberg will continue providing full service on all of its DI presses, including prepress, workflow, RIP, press and parts-related support. The company also is announcing a new service program for its Quickmaster QM DI presses, which will include a full-service program covering repair service, repair parts and travel. As part of this program, Heidelberg will offer special incentives for customers who renew QM DI service contracts or purchase new contracts. Heidelberg offers a range of solutions to meet the needs of the short-run color market. These solutions are designed to handle short production times and increase speed, efficiency and productivity while producing high-quality work. Remarketed DI presses will continue to serve as an easy entry into four-color printing, while presses such as Heidelberg’s Printmaster PM 52 and Speedmaster SM 52 CtP are being offered in special bundles with CtP devices. The unitized design of these presses allows added flexibility in the configuration for capabilities such as inline perfecting, aqueous coating, adding a fifth and sixth color and much more. On the consumables side, Heidelberg will continue to provide products for DI presses such as blankets, wash-up cloths and plates, including the Saphira Quickplate for QM DI customers. Printers also can take advantage of Heidelberg’s Prinect workflow solutions. These integrated solutions enable them to further increase efficiencies in the shop while maximizing productivity.
