Press release from the issuing company

Foster City, Calif., and Framingham, Mass. - March 20, 2006 - EFI has been selected by Staples, Inc., the world's largest office products company, to power its web-based printing services, providing customers nationwide with a flexible and easy-to-use online print store at www.staplescopycenter.com. Customers who visit the new online Staples Copy & Print Center can now upload digital files and submit print and copy jobs to over 1,250 Staples retail stores across the country. Customers will also benefit from new easy features like automatic file conversion to Adobe PDF to print each file exactly as it appears on screen. In addition to powering the online system, EFI technology is a key part of Staples' production facilities, with more than 2,000 FieryR servers driving Staples production copiers. Digital StoreFront(tm) (DSF) is the technology behind Staples "Copy & Print Online." Recently awarded a BERTL's Best Award for Innovation, DSF is EFI's web-to-print platform providing a digital onramp for customers to connect with their preferred printer. DSF eases print job specification and file handling for the customer while automating workflow at the printer. With DSF, printers can provide proactive job status via the web and customers get online job tracking for better visibility into the production process. "For years Staples has relied on Fiery servers for precision color and consistent high-quality output, and now we're expanding online capabilities using EFI Digital StoreFront. DSF is the perfect technology to power our online print store, and works seamlessly behind the scenes with our Fiery's and EFI print MIS system," said Behzad Soltani, director, Business Services at Staples. "Our customers demand an easy-to-use and dependable online printing resource. EFI's technology plays a critical role in our brand promise: to make buying office easy." Said Marc Olin, senior vice president/general manager, EFI Professional Printing Applications: "Staples has always been on the leading-edge of e-commerce. In today's Internet-driven marketplace, the ability for Staples customers to submit print orders online is a true win-win, creating customer satisfaction and loyalty.
