Press release from the issuing company

MIAMISBURG, Ohio, June 4   -- NewPage Corporation announced today that it has signed a preferred partner agreement with the Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) to expand the capabilities and advantages of the HP Indigo digital press solutions to even greater heights. This partnership shows a mutual commitment to support the ever growing and expanding needs of the HP Indigo community.

"Media suppliers, such as NewPage, give print service providers greater flexibility in the types of products they can print, and have long been a valued contributor to the growth of the HP Indigo business," said Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager, Indigo division, HP. "We are pleased to have NewPage as a preferred media partner and look forward to ever greater successes in collaboration with them."

NewPage manufactures widely recognized media brands specifically optimized for printing on HP Indigo equipment: Futura Laser(R), a 96 bright, exceptionally smooth Premium paper; Sterling Ultra Digital(TM) for Indigo, a 90 bright, No. 2, known as the coated paper workhorse for Indigo presses and styled to match both Productolith(R) and Sterling(R) Ultra folio sheets from NewPage, and Blazer Digital(R), an economy paper offering designed to compete with imported No. 3 papers.

"We are extremely honored to be an HP Indigo Preferred Partner. It is an exclusive designation and we will work diligently to expand the breadth and depth of papers available to the Indigo community," says Michelle Garrett, manager, marketing strategy for digital papers at NewPage. "Our partnership with HP Indigo is a critical measure of our commitment to continue manufacturing high quality, fine printing papers for the digital platform. Printers today understand the total cost of value to their clients, and our papers help those printers bring value to their clients by enabling greater image quality, snap, color fidelity, efficiency on press and post-press performance."
