Press release from the issuing company

Akron, Ohio, February 21, 2006 -- The GIA and GretagMacbeth announced that eight additional stops have been added in March to the successful digital color training seminar touring in the US and Canada. The "Color Control Freak" seminar, presented in cooperation with Quark, Adobe, Pantone, HP, EIZO, Nik and HOW, teaches graphic designers, art directors and marketing professionals how to manage color throughout their workflow with an emphasis on using the powerful color control features within the new QuarkXPress 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 applications. "Over 1,000 designers have already registered, and a third of our original dates reached capacity," said Rick Scrimger, North American Sales & Marketing Manager, GretagMacbeth Global Services. "Clearly we struck a chord with creative professionals who take their color seriously and want to learn about the latest tools and current best practices in color control." Learn the Rules Attendees learn how to use their favorite design applications to specify color, accurately preview colors on-screen and ensure that designs are reproduced correctly. A dynamic instructor also demonstrates how to leverage the latest color technologies, including monitor calibrators, profiling software, proofers, color standards, RIP workflows and color sharing applications. Get the Tools Registrants receive a Designer's Color Toolkit, with everything needed to start applying color management, including the just-released huey monitor calibration system, a "Color Management for Creatives" eLearning DVD, reference CD, presentation booklet, "Need to Know: Color" manual, Workflow Tip Sheets and discounts from sponsors.
