Tensor Delivers 8 Tower Hybrid Press With 14 Web Capability On Each Folder

WOODRIDGE, IL (February 20, 2006) - Tensor Group, Inc. announces the slated installation of an eight tower, two folder heatset/coldest hybrid press at Al Ayam Publishing in Bahrain. Each Tensor H-50 folder has been re-engineered to process 14 webs effectively. The installation of the footprint shaftless press is slated for June, 2006. The enhanced folders are each equipped with a quarterfolder, and include the following new and/or modified features: - Triple RTF with urethane trolleys to ensure tension control - Longer and larger, steep-angle conical former board with air - Larger roller point-of-former - Extra large nip system - 1 ½ times larger than the standard size - Multi-web severing device - New pin and tuck brush package - New jaw cam package to increase the jaw opening - Larger ½ fold delivery bucket - Improved laser jam detection system - New laced belt delivery transport system for easier installation of belts Two of the eight T-400BE 4-high towers will be dedicated to heatset and feature chilled ink vibrators and Quad Tech cutoff controls. The entire press is equipped with remote motorization, a full helical gear train, bearers on the plate and blanket cylinders, spiral brush dampening, insulated water trays, oil cooling and slit style plate lock-ups. The press also features Tensor double web turnbars, fourteen Hurst autopasters, EPG remote inking, Quad Tech register guidance and two vertical Jardis Global Drying systems. Al Ayam primarily prints high quality semi-commercial broadsheet newspapers as well as weekly and monthly magazines.
