Agfa Graphics unveils global program of substantial price increases

Press release from the issuing company

Mortsel (Belgium) February 16, 2006 -- Agfa Graphics today announced a price increase program on a global level for its graphics prepress consumables (printing plates and films). Increases are substantial, on average double digit, but vary depending on markets and regions. They take effect immediately. Soaring prices of silver and aluminum (reaching 17 and 19-year highs) as well as continued energy and transportation cost increases are the basic reasons for this decision. "Our customers value Agfa Graphics' high-quality business standards to 'Stay Ahead' and expect us to continue investing in leading-edge technology and innovative solutions. That is why we believe they will understand the necessity of these price increases," said Stefaan Vanhooren, Agfa Graphics' President.
