Kugler-Womako to showcase new double wire forming machine ProLoop at IPEX

Press release from the issuing company

Hamburg, February 9, 2006 - At IPEX 2006, Kugler-Womako, a company of the Korber PaperLink Group, will present the double wire forming machine ProLoop, an upgraded version of the proven HK 571. The ProLoop forms double wires from the spool according to international quality standards. The size range covers all current diameters and pitches. The ProLoop produces the double wire comb directly onto spools, thus meeting the requirements of double wire producers and the stationery industry. Connected to a cut-length machine type CLM, the endless wire comb can be finished inline or offline to single pieces and so to trading units. These are requested to bind low volumes for example in copy shops, in-plant printing departments or for office use. The wire comb forming process has been improved in this machine. Due to an advanced planetary gear and a rotating process, the performance could be increased by up to 40 % depending on the diameter. The machine is driven by state-of-the-art servodrives. During format changes, fewer parts have to be changed which means that set-up times and cost for size tools could be further reduced. So the machine can be quickly adjusted to new formats. A new feature offered with the ProLoop is the non-stop rewinder that reduces the manual efforts for spool changes that are frequently necessary during the production of double wire with large diameters. The wire forming machine can be connected to binding machines of Kugler-Womako or other manufacturers. During live demonstrations at the Körber PaperLink booth (No. 02-C10), visitors can learn more about the ProLoop and its non-stop rewinder.
