PIA/GATF Announces New Advisor for Digital Print Business Services

Press release from the issuing company

Sewickley, PA February 9, 2006—Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) is pleased to announce that John M. Hamm has joined their consultant line-up as senior advisor to PIA/GATF for digital printing. Hamm, a veteran in both the commercial printing business and in digital print technologies, blends his extensive industry knowledge, applied experience and in-depth familiarity with digital print to provide companies with the kind of key information they need to explore, expand or extend their companies’ opportunities with digital printing as a compliment to their core businesses. Says Hamm, “My tenure as a commercial print provider, combined with my experience in supplier-side marketing, enables me to provide clients with in-depth market knowledge, objective analysis, and client-specific guidance toward market-making business results. During his 20-year tenure with Balmar Printing & Graphics, one of the largest graphic arts service providers in the Washington/Baltimore region, Hamm successfully grew the business through diversified offerings coupled with the company’s traditional, but still vital, sheetfed and non-heatset web-offset business. Two stints with Xerox sharpened his ability to develop programs and strategies; the first stint—in sales and sales management—coupled with the second—developing go-to-market strategies for Xerox’s Production Printing Division—gives Hamm a unique insight into the forces driving both change and success in today’s commercial printing markets. The addition of Mr. Hamm to PIA/GATF’s consulting line up demonstrates the organization’s commitment to helping their members be as successful as possible. PIA/GATF believes that for many of its members, digital printing is an offering they must assess and embrace. And as the premier association for the printing industry, PIA/GATF—and it’s Digital Printing Council—is committed to providing members,as well as the industry, the best information on recognizing, analyzing and growing the opportunities of digital printing.
