Romano's Road Trip Fuels New Sessions At Vue/Point Conference 2006

Press release from the issuing company

Alexis de Tocqueville. Jack Kerouac. Frank Romano. All three spent some serious time “on the road” in America and came home bursting with new insights and opinions. But unlike the French jurist/traveler or the Beat author, Professor Emeritus Frank Romano will be on hand to share the findings of his extraordinary journey during the upcoming VUE/POINT Conference in Orlando. Romano recently drove across the United States, visiting 34 printers in more than 25 states, observing their operations and discussing their concerns and plans. He’s distilled his findings into a set of “New Rules for the Printing Business,” which will be a highlight of the year’s foremost peer-to-peer graphic communications conference. VUE/POINT will take place April 10-12 at the Hilton in Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, Florida. “Printers shared their successes and their failures with me, plus much more,” says Romano. “This was a chance to learn about the present and the future of our industry from first-hand reporting, not dry surveys, and some of the results will astound you - in a good way.” Romano’s session will address key enablers for success, the most common reasons for failure, growth opportunities present and future, and how printing management must improve. The session is just one of three Professor Romano will lead during the conference, which will offer a total of more than 18 highly interactive sessions. At a special Tuesday evening roundtable, Romano will update attendees on the most important developments unveiled at the international IPEX exhibition in Britain, which will be concluding at the same time. “This session will bring together representatives of suppliers who introduced new approaches to workflow at IPEX that will affect every level of the printing industry,” Romano says. “This will be the first U.S. discussion of these new methods by the companies that made it happen. VUE/POINT evening roundtables, he adds, “are brutally honest and extremely informative.” Finally, the last session of the conference will feature Romano summing up the conference and identifying its key themes and lessons. The complete program for the VUE/POINT Conference has been posted at www.vue-point.com. It features sessions on such topics as: Walking the Walk - A Look at Those Who Have Become More Than Just Printers Solution Selling - How to Retool Your Sales Team Opportunities in Wide Format Printing Remote Workflows Realties Ramping up for Web-to-Print Digital Asset Management - Has It Become a Required Offering?
