Press release from the issuing company

Miami, Feb. 2, 2006 – BOWE BELL + HOWELL, the world’s leading provider of document processing and postal solutions, received an Honorable Mention in the Technology Application of the Year Award from Xplor International. The award was presented Feb. 1 during the opening session of the Xplor 2006 Global Document Exchange Conference, held in conjunction with the Graphics of the Americas Exposition at the Miami Beach Convention Center. BÖWE BELL + HOWELL was honored for developing Print Stream Optimization (PSO), a patent-pending solution that uses advanced software algorithms to change the order of documents in print streams before they are printed, dramatically improving the throughput of downstream finishing equipment. This solution will have resounding implications in high-volume mailing operations such as banks, insurance companies, credit card issuers, brokerage firms, telecommunications companies and other utilities. Xplor’s Technology Application of the Year Award recognizes an imaginative application of current technology that establishes an industry direction. Due to the high number of quality submissions, Xplor International presented Honorable Mention awards in this category for the first time this year. Mike Maselli, director of business management, Software Business Solutions, and Sarah Elliott, software business manager, accepted the award on behalf of BÖWE BELL + HOWELL. “We are extremely pleased to receive this important reward,” said Roger Spitzig, vice president and general manager, Software Business Solutions. “Our exciting new technology is helping customers realize the true power and throughput of their finishing equipment, resulting in significant productivity gains and dramatically reducing the cost of their operation.” For more information on Print Stream Optimization, contact Sarah Elliott by phone at 410-949-2630 or e-mail at Sarah.Elliott@bowebellhowell.com.
