Web Vision Quality Assurance System Announced By Lasermax Roll Systems

Press release from the issuing company

Miami Beach, FL (February 3, 2006) - Lasermax Roll Systems announces availability of the Web Vision(tm) digital print quality monitor. Using high resolution cameras to scan in-line the full width of digitally printed bills, statements and documents, Web Vision captures very large, high quality images to enable automated analysis of image quality, data integrity and workflow processes. Image quality: Based on appropriate test images, Web Vision analyzes the print density at all points across the web. It also tests for image smears, streaks, and localized artifacts such as specks or scratches in the image. Data integrity: With the use of optical character recognition, customer statement account identifiers and sequence numbers can be checked for logical content. Data in separate fields can be checked for self-consistency. Workflow processes: Web Vision can monitor the alignment of print relative to pre-print, and confirm that the proper pre-printed stock has been selected. The system also can monitor the readability of 2D bar codes and other common symbology to ensure smooth down-stream processing. Because Web Vision allows analysis immediately after printing, problems are identified as soon as possible, minimizing the waste of both paper and printer time. Web Vision consists of a paper-handling module to control the paper web, cameras, a PC with monitor, and Lasermax Roll Systems image capture and analysis software. Setup is easy, as automated tests are stored as templates - different jobs can be run without operator adjustments. The operator can view the entire web, and freeze the display, pan and zoom with mouse clicks. The print line is shut down automatically when certain errors are detected. Web Vision is being shown in the Lasermax Roll Systems booth (#311) at the Xplor / Graphics of the Americas show in Miami Beach. Lasermax Roll Systems is the world's largest manufacturer of productivity solutions for digital printers. Its products are sold and serviced in over 50 countries.
