The two Komori presses replace four existing Heidelberg presses. With the installation of the new Komori press, Rocky Mountain Printing is experiencing a faster time to market due to the flexibility, intuitive technology and speed of the Komori Lithrone S40P. Key drivers in the decision to add another Komori press included the company’s positive experience with Komori’s after-sale commitment to customers, the computerized makeready capabilities of the press and its closed loop color control system. Komori’s fully automatic plate changing system (Full-APC) changes all six plates in less than four minutes at the touch of a button. Ink, blanket and impression cylinder cleaning are also fully automated. Rocky Mountain reports that the fast makeready these attributes provide makes it possible for customers to wait onsite for press checks, saving time and providing a speed-to-market important to the retail markets it serves.
