Press release from the issuing company

MEREDITH, N.H. (February 01, 2006) – VUTEk, a division of EFI, is exhibiting its broad portfolio of UV-curing flatbed and solvent roll-to-roll printers at Sign & Graphics Imaging, Dubai, UAE, February 6 – 8, 2006. EFI (www.efi.com) is the world leader in digital controllers, superwide format printers and inks, and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing. On display at the show, the PressVu UV 200/600 UV-curing flatbed printer, starting at only $199,000, offers the highest image quality and greatest versatility available today in a UV-curing printer. It enables users to benefit from high-end image quality, greater productivity and improved profitability at an affordable price. The PressVu UV 200/600 digital inkjet printer is loaded with features you would expect to find on more expensive models – like stunning four- or six-color, 600 dpi capabilities that deliver photographic color reproduction and crisp text reproduction. Its virtually limitless versatility and industrial-strength construction allow operators to print on a variety of sheet-fed or roll-to-roll materials around the clock, enabling owners to expand their services and satisfy a nearly infinite variety of long-term outdoor and indoor applications — increasing value to customers and driving up profitability. Available in four-color, six-color and four-color white+ models, the PressVu UV 200/600 can print up to two meters (80 inches) wide at up to 33 square meters (350 square feet) per hour, and prints on rigid materials up to 4.45 centimeters (1.75 inches) thick. Color gradients are smooth in the printer’s six-color/600 dpi mode, and the accurate and easily repeatable matching of target colors is now possible. Also on display, the UltraVu II 3360 three-meter roll-to-roll printer delivers the best image quality and most productivity in its class. In addition to throughput improvements in all print modes, the UltraVu II 3360 comes standard with many new features, including a more automated two-sided print registration option for producing consistent, distortion-free double-sided graphics. Engineered for both high-speed and high-quality printing, the UltraVu II 3360, starting at $199,000, achieves print speeds up to 151 square meters (1,622 square feet) per hour with the new Rapid Return feature, included in VUTEk’s latest software version. The Rapid Return feature allows the printer carriage to increase its acceleration and deceleration speeds, so there is no longer a significant pause between sweeps. Available in four-, six- and eight-color models, the UltraVu II 3360 prints at 720 dpi resolution (360 dpi addressable) for sharp, crisp and consistent output. In addition, VUTEk will showcase the five-meter UltraVu II 5330 digital inkjet printer. With improved productivity and increased functionality, the UltraVu II 5330 delivers faster production speeds in some print modes, allowing VUTEk to continue its legacy as the world’s leading supplier of the fastest five-meter printer. The UltraVu II 5330 offers VUTEk’s SMOOTHING feature for the production of distortion-free outputs when printing images with heavy color saturation, and a Low Friction Kit that allows difficult materials to be run more easily. The increased productivity and functionality of the UltraVu II 5330 allows print providers to expand their business offering to include high-quality, high-margin applications requiring fast turnarounds, and opens up a whole new road to profitability. The UltraVu II 5330, starting at $349,000, prints on a wide variety of substrates, including vinyl, pressure-sensitive, paper, mesh and textiles, up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) in width at print speeds up to 207 square meters (2,230 square feet) per hour. The UltraVu II 5330 also provides the highest-quality printing in its class, with up to 330 dpi resolution and eight colors for images that are sharp, crisp and consistent, and converts easily and quickly from Fast-4-color printing to high quality, eight-color printing.
