Imaging Technology International Introduces Inkjet Drive Engine for Xaar OmniDot 760 Printheads

Press release from the issuing company

January 30, 2006 - Boulder, Colorado - imaging Technology international (iTi), a global designer and manufacturer of industrial ink jet systems, announces the release of the Delta XO/760, the first model in its new Inkjet Drive Engine (IDE) product line. IDE products are a turnkey package of electronics, ink systems and interfaces that enable developers to simplify the integration of a specific inkjet printhead or printhead family into development, test, and production environments for industrial inkjet applications. The Delta XO/760 is designed to support new OmniDot 760 printheads from Xaar, a leading global supplier of industrial piezoelectric inkjet printheads. It is an integrated system of electronic and fluid delivery components necessary to support OmniDot 760 printhead functions and communicate images to be printed to a variety of output devices. It is a cost effective, production ready, turnkey solution, never before available to Xaar printhead users. Set in a rack mount enclosure, the Delta XO/760 incorporates Xaar's XUSB printhead support module, the OmniDot 760 ES-ISS ink supply system, a powerful server with inbuilt display and keyboard, temperature control system, and quick connect ports for ink, heating, electrical, motion control and communication interfaces. It provides access to a broad range of printhead, temperature, print clock timing and motion control functions through an extensible graphical software package. "The Inkjet Drive Engine products control all of the fundamental variables of inkjet printing" says iTi Chief Technical Officer Dr. Ross N. Mills. "This makes them a powerful tool for developers evaluating inkjet as a technology for digital manufacturing, and for integrators looking for an off-the-shelf printhead controller for custom manufacturing systems." "We are delighted that iTi has chosen the OmniDot 760 as the first industrial printhead to be supported by its new Inkjet Drive Engine product family," said Dr. John Attard, Business Development Manager at Xaar. "The Delta XO/760 will facilitate the integration of our powerful new printhead technology into applications ranging from printable electronics to biological dispensing by greatly simplifying the setup and control of the printheads in a wide range of test and development platforms." The Delta XO/760 Printhead Drive Engine is fully integrated with iTi's line of inkjet development tools: the Drop Watcher, Inkjet Web Press, and XY Materials Deposition System, further establishing iTi as the leading supplier of systems for jettable fluid analysis, fluid-substrate interaction testing, process development and pilot line production. Initial shipments of the Delta XO/760 have been completed and it is available for volume shipments. It will debut at IMI's 15th Annual Inkjet Printing conference, January 30 to February 3, 2006 in St. Pete's Beach, Florida.
