Heidelberg USA Announces New Product Installation Report

KENNESAW, Ga. – January 31, 2006 – Heidelberg USA announces the following sample of new product installations: Allegra Print & Imaging Installs Speedmaster SM 52 from Heidelberg Allegra Print & Imaging, located in Reno, Nev., recently installed a five-color Speedmaster SM 52 with coater from Heidelberg to replace an existing four-color press. The shop reports that the coating unit on the new press allows for faster turnaround and greater productivity. Allegra Print & Imaging uses the new SM 52 to produce a variety of marketing materials, postcards, brochures, stationery and direct mail pieces. Founded in 1988, Allegra Print & Imaging is a general commercial printer housing 14 employees. The shop services primarily local clients, including casinos, manufacturing companies and non-profit organizations. Aloma Printing Adds Printmaster QM 46, Speedmaster SM 74 from Heidelberg Aloma Printing, Inc., located in Winter Park, Fla., recently installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46 press and a four-color Speedmaster SM 74 press with coater from Heidelberg to increase efficiency. The new QM 46 was added to compliment an existing Printmaster QM 46 and increase capacity. The Speedmaster SM 74 was installed to introduce larger sheet sizes and add in-line coating capabilities. Since the installation, the shop reports increases in efficiency and faster turnaround times. Founded in 1995, Aloma Printing is a family-owned and operated trade printer housing 20 employees. The shop services an assortment of industry clients, including print brokers, agencies, mail houses and other printers. BABER, Inc. Increases Efficiency with Prosetter 74 from Heidelberg BABER, Inc., based in Memphis, Tenn., recently installed a Prosetter 74 platesetting device from Heidelberg to upgrade technology from film processing. Since the installation, the shop reports increases in efficiency and cost savings with the Prosetter’s easy integration into the workflow. The shop also reports that the new equipment has been invaluable in helping the printer manage a 20 percent increase in business. In addition to the Prosetter, BABER purchased a Heidelberg consumables package that includes Saphira Violet plates and chemistry. Founded in 1934, BABER, Inc. is a family-owned and operated printer specializing in direct mail services. With a staff of 30, the shop services a wide variety of clients, including manufacturers, financial institutions, retailers and Fortune 500 companies. Beiler Printing Installs POLAR 78 X Cutter from Heidelberg Beiler Printing, located in Lancaster, Pa., recently installed a POLAR 78 X high-speed cutter from Heidelberg to update its bindery equipment. Since the installation, the shop reports increases in efficiency and decreases in downtime due to the cutter’s reliable and productive operation. The shop uses the new cutter to produce a wide variety of materials, such as postcards and business cards. Founded in 1991, Beiler Printing is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing four employees. The shop services primarily local clients in the healthcare and agriculture industries. The Brandt Company Installs Two New Presses from Heidelberg The Brandt Company, located in Davenport, Iowa, recently installed a four-color Speedmaster SM 102 with perfector and coater and a six-color Speedmaster CD 74 with coater from Heidelberg to maximize productivity. Since the installation, the shop reports a 30 percent increase in capacity, resulting in increased sales and profitability. The new presses also have expanded the shop’s offerings to include packaging services. Founded in 1970, The Brandt Company is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing 55 employees. The shop services a wide variety of regional clients in the education, healthcare, service and manufacturing industries. Delargy’s Office Supply Increases Productivity with Printmaster QM 46 Press Delargy’s Office Supply, Inc., located in Charlotte, N.C., recently installed a two-color Printmaster QM 46 press from Heidelberg to upgrade technology. Since the installation, the shop reports increases in productivity and profitability due to reduced production times and the equipment’s easy operation. The new press also has enabled the shop to keep more work in-house. Delargy’s Office Supply uses the new press to produce an assortment of materials, such as business materials, laser checks and carbonless forms. Founded in 1972, Delargy’s Office Supply is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing seven employees. The shop services a wide variety of clients in the recycling, automotive and racing industries. Fong & Fong Installs Stahlfolder TH 82 from Heidelberg Fong & Fong Printers & Lithographers, located in Sacramento, Calif., recently upgraded its bindery equipment with the addition of a Stahlfolder TH 82 from Heidelberg. Since the installation, the shop reports increased efficiency due to the folder’s short makeready times and high levels of automation. Fong & Fong also reports that the new equipment has improved turnaround times and reduced costs. The shop uses the Stahlfolder to produce annual reports, collateral materials and specialty pieces. Founded in 1958, Fong & Fong is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer servicing local and national clients. Georgia Power Increases Productivity with Prepress Solutions from Heidelberg The in-plant printing facility at Georgia Power, based in Atlanta, recently installed a Prosetter 102 computer-to-plate system with Single Cassette Loader (SCL) from Heidelberg to update technology. Since the installation, the shop reports increases in productivity due to the equipment’s easy integration into its all-Heidelberg prepress department. The shop also reports significant advantages from its new Prinect solutions, including Prinect Printready System, Prinect Signa Station and Prinect MetaDimension. A Heidelberg prepress customer for more than 10 years, the print shop at Georgia Power produces all internal and external materials for the company, as well as complimentary work for non-profit organizations. The shop houses 21 employees. Herald Multiforms Increases Production with Prosetter 102 from Heidelberg Herald Multiforms, located in Dillon, S.C., recently added a Prosetter 102 computer-to-plate system with Single Cassette Loader (SCL) to upgrade technology from film processing and to introduce an all-PDF workflow. Since the installation, the shop reports increased speed and improved quality. In addition, the Prosetter has increased shop production by significantly reducing makeready times. Founded in 1892, Herald Multiforms manufactures receipt books, continuous forms, snap outs, cut sheets, pads, envelopes, newspapers and tabloids for dealers. Housing 50 employees, the shop also produces a variety of general commercial materials for industry clients, including two- and four-color brochures and letterhead. Jiffy Print Increases Efficiency with Prosetter 74 Jiffy Print, a division of Industrial Products & Services, Inc. located in Hartsville, S.C., recently installed a Prosetter 74 computer-to-plate device from Heidelberg to transition from polyester to metal plates. Since the installation, the shop reports increases in efficiency and production times. The new equipment also has boosted the shop’s quality of work, and reduced the opportunity for error. Jiffy Print purchased a Heidelberg consumables package with the Prosetter 74, inclusive of Saphira Violet plates and chemistry. Founded in 1975, Jiffy Print is a general commercial printer housing eight employees. The shop serves a varied client base, including computer software companies, hospitals and packaging manufacturers. The John Roberts Company Increases Capacity with New Speedmaster SM 102 Press The John Roberts Company, based in Minneapolis, Minn., recently added a 10-color Speedmaster SM 102 press with CutStar roll sheeter from Heidelberg to upgrade technology. The shop reports that its primary motivation for purchasing the new press was the perfecting unit, which has increased efficiency by cutting press time in half for most jobs. The new SM 102 also has increased production in the all-Heidelberg sheetfed department. Founded in 1951, The John Roberts Company is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing 330 employees. The shop services a wide variety of local and national clients, including those in the finance, travel and recreational industries. Kirkwood Printing Installs Eight-color Speedmaster XL 105 Press from Heidelberg Kirkwood Printing, located in Wilmington, Mass., recently installed an eight-color Speedmaster XL 105 press with in-line aqueous coater from Heidelberg to increase capacity and fulfill customer demand. The XL 105 complements the shop’s three existing 40-inch Heidelberg presses. Kirkwood plans to use the new press to produce an assortment of materials, such as annual reports, corporate literature, direct marketing pieces, museum posters, catalog work and maps. Kirkwood Printing is a high-end general commercial printer housing 92 employees. The shop services a regional client base that includes customers in the financial services, education, medical products, consumer goods, travel and non-profit sectors. Kwik Kopy Printing Installs New Press, Prepress Equipment from Heidelberg Kwik Kopy Printing, located in Fairfax, Va., recently installed a Prosetter 52 computer-to-plate system and a four-color Printmaster PM 52 press with perfector from Heidelberg. The shop added the Prosetter to upgrade technology from film processing and streamline prepress operations. The new PM 52 was installed to increase speed and improve quality. The shop reports that the new equipment has increased capacity and productivity, enabling them to handle greater workloads from clients and capture more new business. Founded in 1983, Kwik Kopy Printing is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing five employees. The shop services a wide variety of clients, including architecture and engineering firms, real estate companies, graphic designers and advertising agencies. Midstates Printing, Inc. Installs Stitchmaster ST 400 from Heidelberg Midstates Printing, Inc., based in Aberdeen, S.D., recently added a Stitchmaster ST 400 saddlestitcher from Heidelberg to increase efficiency. The shop installed the new stitcher because of its automated makeready process, which significantly decreases production time. Midstates Printing uses the ST 400 to produce a wide variety of materials, such as tabloids, quarter-fold work, direct mail pieces, mail-order catalogs and publications. Founded in 1979, Midstates Printing is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing 275 employees. The company serves a diverse assortment of local and national clients, including those in the educational, recreational and healthcare industries. Northern Ohio Printing Increases Productivity with Prinect Solutions from Heidelberg Northern Ohio Printing, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio, recently installed the Prinect Printready P System with Prinect Metadimension 5.1, Prinect Prinance Management Information System and Prinect Signa Station 9. The shop reports that the new workflow components maximize efficiency and accelerate job flow in the all-Heidelberg shop. With the new Prinect products, the shop has achieved complete connectivity between its prepress, press and bindery operations. Founded in 1994, Northern Ohio Printing is a privately-owned general commercial printer housing 25 employees. The shop services a client base of more than 350 accounts consisting of manufacturers, direct marketing companies and a variety of local businesses. PIP Printing Cuts Costs with Printmaster GTO 52, Prosetter 52 from Heidelberg PIP Printing, located on Laurens Road in Greenville, S.C., recently elevated their position in the four-color market with the addition of a Printmaster GTO 52 from Heidelberg. The shop also installed a Prosetter 52 to increase productivity in its prepress department. Since the installations, the shop reports a significant increase in business due to its ability to market four-color work at a better price. The new equipment also has cut costs and increased efficiency in the shop. PIP Printing uses the new press to produce a wide variety of materials, including flyers, pamphlets, four-color newsletters, brochures and business materials. Founded in 1980, PIP Printing is a family-owned and operated general commercial printer housing 16 employees. With an annual revenue of $1.8 million in 2005, PIP services clients in the automotive, healthcare, industrial and manufacturing industries. Positive Press Printing Installs POLAR 78 X Cutter from Heidelberg Positive Press Printing, Inc., located in Fayetteville, Ga., recently added a POLAR 78 X high-speed cutter from Heidelberg to upgrade its cutting equipment. Since the installation, the shop reports significant increases in productivity and efficiency. The POLAR 78 X also has increased speed in the shop’s bindery due to the cutter’s automation and simple operation. Positive Press Printing uses the new bindery equipment to cut a wide variety of materials, including postcards and business materials. Founded in 2000, Positive Press Printing is a general commercial printer housing three employees. Southern Converters Installs Speedmaster CD 102 Press from Heidelberg Southern Converters, Inc., a division of J.R. Cole Industries in Charlotte, N.C., recently installed a six-color Speedmaster CD 102 press with UV capabilities from Heidelberg. Since the installation, the shop reports improved quality due to the new equipment’s advanced automation and complete UV integration. The CD 102 also has shortened makeready times and decreased start-up waste in the shop’s all-Heidelberg pressroom, resulting in quicker job throughput. Founded in 1979, J.R. Cole Industries is a privately-owned company running four converting facilities, including Southern Converters, within a 10-mile radius. The company services a national client base consisting of Fortune 500 companies in the HBA, healthcare, household-care, wine/spirits and consumer electronics industries. T.L. Krieg Offset Increases Capacity with Speedmaster CD 102 Press from Heidelberg T.L. Krieg Offset, Inc., based in Cincinnati, Ohio, recently installed a six-color Speedmaster CD 102 press with coater and extended delivery from Heidelberg to replace an existing five-color press. Since the installation, the shop reports a 50 percent increase in workload capabilities. The CD 102 also has boosted speed and efficiency in the shop’s new facility. The new press is being used to produce a wide variety of materials, such as maps, posters and brochures. Founded in 1973, T.L. Krieg Offset is a family-owned and operated trade printer housing 30 employees. The shop prints commercial materials for print brokers, agencies and other print shops.
