Xplor Invests Makes an Investment in the Industry's Future

Press release from the issuing company

Torrance, CA (January 26, 2006) — Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association, today announced an investment in the future of the industry marked by the sponsorship of 12 undergraduate students from Clemson’s Department of Graphic Communications to their upcoming Global Document Exchange Conference February 1-5, 2006 in Miami Beach, Florida and co-located with Graphics of the Americas. Headed by Xplor’s Mid-Atlantic region and Document Solutions Network, the sponsorship includes hotel accommodations, free conference passes, a breakfast hosted by Elixir Technologies as well as exposure to industry executives through a series of booth tours and discussions provided by The EDSF, Nearstart and Solimar Systems. In addition, Professor Nancy Leininger, internship coordinator at Clemson, will join the 12 students as well. “A small investment in the present brings a 100-fold return in the future,” said Skip Henk, EDP, president & CEO of Xplor International. “As one of the principal associations for industry, we feel it is our duty to not only to support the advancement of today’s professionals, but tomorrow’s as well.” The Clemson graphic communications program began in 1982 after printing industry leaders came to J. Page Crouch, who was teaching a few graphic communications courses at the university and requested workers who could make an immediate impact on their companies. Crouch, now Visiting Professor Emeritus, responded by training students with an intensive hands-on approach to learning. The Clemson graphic communications department’s philosophy centers on a unique ideal of hands-on learning. The students experience equipment, theories and problem solving. These precepts combined with the right mix of people, faculty and students, as well as the curriculum and the extensive facilities make graduates the most sought after in the industry. Xplor’s annual Global Document Exchange Conference is scheduled for February 1-5, 2006 in Miami Beach, Florida and co-located with Graphics of the Americas, February 3-5, 2006 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Discounts for Xplor members and officers as well as members of TAWPI, IPA, ECI, NAPL, ISUG, PIA and PAF are also available. For more information, visit www.xplor2006.org.
