Oce introduces TDS450 wide format system

Press release from the issuing company

Venlo, The Netherlands, January 12 - Oce introduces the new Océ TDS450 wide format print, copy and scan system with outstanding productive handling of black and white documents, plus the freedom to add colour scan capability. With the Océ TDS450, Océ is proud to introduce its latest technology the patented Océ Direct Scan optical system, which allows breakthrough levels of quality and reliability to be achieved. New optical system with Direct Scan technology The outstanding image quality of the Océ TDS450 is ensured by a single high-resolution 600 dpi colour CCD camera and specially developed high quality lens. The result is a uniform, stable, sharp and accurate image in both black and white and colour. The lamp used to illuminate the original also contributes to the system’s outstanding image quality. Based on the latest lighting technologies, the lamp offers an exceptional colour spectrum and a highly stable light intensity over long periods of operation, all without requiring warming-up time. Single mirror, single camera optical system The reliability of the optical system lies in its single mirror, single camera concept. In multiple-user environments where systems are often subject to tough handling, this concept virtually eliminates the risk of image distortion or misalignment by reducing the number of moving parts to a minimum. Proven Océ Image Logic technology now extended to colour In addition, the patented Océ Image Logic technology—already proven in black and white systems—has now been extended to colour in the Océ TDS450 scanner. This ensures accurate reproduction of all kinds of originals, both black and white and colour, whether multitone images like illustrations and photos or CAD drawings with fine line details. Simplicity of operation means maximum operator convenience The Océ TDS450 scanner stands out for its simplicity of operation, which ensures maximum convenience for the operator. First of all, feeding of originals is extremely simple, with no need for accurate manual alignment of documents. The fully digital automatic width detection is precise to the millimetre, contributing to flawless copying and scanning. Secondly, the innovative display panel, inspired by the technology of today’s palmtop devices and modern ergonomics, is very intuitive and directly accessible to every operator, including wheelchair users. The user interface is fully customisable, using pre-programmed templates that enable users to perform more complex jobs at the touch of a single button. Workgroup printing of all black and white documents The Océ TDS450 is more than just a scanner, it is a complete system that allows workgroups to print all their black and white wide format documents. Supported by regularly updated and certified drivers and software applications, the Océ TDS450 is easy to integrate and will smoothly improve users’ document workflows. Standard B / W system with optional full-colour scan-to-file The Océ TDS450 is available as standard as a black and white printing system, with the option to expand the system with a full-colour scan-to-file capability, underlining the ‘Ready for colour’ slogan that Océ uses for the system.
