Pacific Printing and Fulfillment Installs Third Komori Press

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, January 19, 2006 -- Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced Pacific Printing and Fulfillment, Inc. (PPFI), a general commercial printer serving corporations in Silicon Valley, has recently installed a Komori five-color Lithrone 28 (NL528) with coater. This is the third Komori press for PPFI, having installed its first six-color Komori press in 1997. The NL528 is providing the extra power the company needs to deliver on the short-run, quick turnaround demands its print-on-demand environment requires. PPFI chose the press for its advanced technology, impressive color capability and high satisfaction in working with Komori over the past nine years. “When you are in a print on demand environment like we are, you have to have equipment that can respond quickly,” said Vince Lepera, PPFI co-founder, president and CEO. “Komori is leap years ahead of the competition due to the press’ advanced software, which, among other things, provides an extremely fast makeready. I also continue to be impressed with Komori’s responsiveness. We’ve not had one period of 24-hour downtime in the past nine years since installing our Komori presses.” PPFI has an impressive, diverse customer base that includes Google, Banana Republic and Sony Computer Entertainment—all demanding different application requirements. The NL528 responds to PPFI’s need for versatility with its ability to handle thin and thick paper stock; the addition of an inline coating system that permits higher value-added printing; and advanced automation capabilities that provide low-cost, efficient, high-quality color printing. “Pacific Printing and Fulfillment has been a valued customer for almost a decade,” said Paul Peyrebrune, vice president of sales for Komori’s Western Region. “Komori presses provide the perfect technology to accomplish Pacific Printing’s goals for fast turnaround coupled with high quality results. We are pleased to be part of the company’s continued success.”
