Thursday, January 19, 2006

Press release from the issuing company

[Cohoes, NY] – Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. recently announced the addition of a new category in its annual Mohawk Show. This year a special award will be given in the category of Identity Design. All designers are invited to enter identity pieces from a single letterhead to multi-faceted complete corporate identity systems. Winning work is based on intelligent design, virtuosity and exceptional marriage of Mohawk paper and ink, as well as form and content. The deadline for entries into the Mohawk Show 7 is May 31, 2006. “Identity is such an important part of a company’s marketing and communication efforts. It creates an immediate impression and this year we wanted to call special attention to the art of creating an identity,” says Mohawk’s Senior Vice President Communications, Laura Shore. The winner of this special Identity Design Award will join the other four top winners of the Mohawk Show 7. Each winner will receive a four-night prize package to the 2007 Sundance Film Festival (or $3,000 cash). Designers are encouraged to enter as many pieces as they desire. Mohawk may also feature the winning projects in a traveling exhibit, on Mohawk’s website, in trade journal ads and in a printed Mohawk Show 7 catalog.
