With the installation of the new Komori press, Consolidated Press is able to broaden its product capabilities and take on special projects because of the press' ability to print on a variety of substrates, to lay down special colors and overprint varnish. Additionally, because the sheet is not reversed, the issue of front/back quality variation inherent to conventional perfectors is eliminated, which also saves time and labor costs. Consolidated Press cites that the speed of the press coupled with the productivity of single-pass printing has increased throughput capacity five times over that of its previous sheetfed presses.
