IKON Launches Printer-Only Version of Award-Winning IKON PrintCenterPro 1050

Press release from the issuing company

MALVERN, Pa.--Jan. 17, 2006-- IKON Office Solutions, the world's largest independent channel for document management systems and services, today announced the availability of the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050P, a printer version of the company's award-winning IKON PrintCenterPro 1050 copy/print system. The 105 page-per-minute IKON PrintCenterPro 1050P features an enhanced duty cycle of two million impressions per month, robust finishing options and available 24x7 service provided by IKON's experienced customer service technicians, making it an ideal high-volume printing system for data centers and other production print environments. By effectively meeting the print needs of both data centers and corporate print shops, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050P helps businesses maximize document management investments. "With more than six years of experience in the production print environment, IKON understands that data centers, commercial printers and other high-volume print operations require top quality output from extremely versatile systems, at an affordable price point," said Cathy L. Lewis, Senior Vice President of Marketing for IKON. "With the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050, customers have confirmed overwhelmingly that we hit these quality, versatility and cost requirements. Now, by introducing a printer-only version, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050P, which provides the same great quality and versatility for high-volume customers that only require the printing capabilities, we have the ability to further reduce the cost of the system while delivering an increased duty cycle--a combination production customers truly value." Co-branded with Konica Minolta, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050P prints up to 105 pages per minute, and incorporates world-class imaging quality through the next generation of fusing technology. The system also features robust finishing capabilities, including six folding options, multi-position stapling, cover insertion, hole punching and saddle stitching of up to 50 sheets for 200-page booklets. Its advanced air-assist paper feed technology ensures reliable paper feeding over a wide range of media weights, sizes and finishes. When combined with IKON's leading print controllers, including the exclusive IKON PowerPress and IKON PowerPort, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050P can be configured to help meet the demands of high volume print applications. For instance, with IKON PowerPress, the system can be networked with up to 11 additional copy/print systems, including the award-winning IKON CPP(TM) 500 50 page per minute color production system, for highly efficient and scalable production printing. IKON PowerPress is a universal server based on leading technology from Electronics for Imaging, which can drive up to 12 systems and connect clusters of up to eight engines simultaneously. IKON PowerPort is an integrated software solution developed with Rochester Software Associates technology that automatically converts Xerox LCDS and IBM data streams to industry standard PostScript for printing on network printers without costly reprogramming. IKON can also integrate Objectif Lune's PlanetPress software with the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050P to address variable data printing needs. "Backed by IKON's robust connectivity and maintenance services and integrated with IKON's controller technology and other best-in-class color and black-and-white systems, the IKON PrintCenterPro 1050P is an industry-leading production solution," concluded Lewis.
