KBA North America Bolsters Technological Support With Two Key Appointments
Press release from the issuing company
KBA North America, a leading supplier of sheetfed offset and digital presses based in Williston, VT, has named two new key appointments to its staff at its headquarters. Chris Travis, KBA technology manager, and Crystal Flutur, KBA product specialist, are bringing their expertise and experience to bolster the expanding technological area at KBA.
Chris Travis has been named KBA Technology Manager and will be in charge of the newly-expanded 8,000 square foot KBA customer demonstration center in Williston, Vermont. Travis will be overseeing live demonstrations for customers as well as discussing future technology.
“Our new demo center in Williston is a state-of-the-art facility that provides our customers and potential customers with the ability to test jobs, see our high-quality presses in action, and take advantage of seminars and workshops for training,” says Travis. “I enjoy meeting our customers and providing them with the knowledge and understanding of our equipment and leading our demo-room team. In addition, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of printing in our demo room, testing new consumables to help our customers achieve the highest quality printing on their KBA presses.”
The Customer Demonstration Center is equipped with a full prepress department and a wide array of KBA presses, including the Genius 52UV, 74 Karat, Performa 74 and a Rapida 105 all printing on a wide variety of substrates from canvas to plastic and 40lb to 48 pt paper/board using waterless, waterless UV, conventional, hybrid, UV and conductive inks with dispersion, UV, pearlescent and aqueous coatings.
Travis comes to KBA North America from Flint Ink where he was the Experimental Printing Manager of global research and development for three years. His prior experience includes an apprenticeship with a British printing company after graduating from college and a printing instructor in Europe for a different printing press manufacturer.
Crystal Flutur has been named KBA Product Specialist with an emphasis on KBA’s Logotronic, Densitronic, and Qualitronic systems. She will be consulting with customers and going out in the field for job trainings. At KBA headquarters in Vermont, she will be developing a Logotronic training center to better educate KBA customers on how to fully use KBA’s superior workflow solutions.
“As KBA broadens its installation base of management system tools in the industry, I will be a key resource for KBA customers to help them understand the systems and how they provide them with faster, more automated information,” says Flutur. “I look forward to providing KBA customers with the most up-to-date information about digital management tools as the industry continues to evolve.”
