Graphics of the Americas and Xplor to Provide Industry with Event of the Future

Miami Beach, Florida– December 6, 2005–The 31st annual Graphics of the Americas, the second largest U.S.-based annual international graphic communications exhibit and conference and Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association, today updated their progress for what the organizers term “the event of the future.” By combining the latest products of the new year, both traditional offset and digital printing, software, pre and post-press solutions, along with seven conferences, Powered by Xplor, in one location, attendees will find the five-day event an accurate representation of the future direction of the industry, marked by the convergence of technologies and solutions, enhanced by cutting-edge educational programs. Traditionally, Graphics of the Americas has provided printers and creative professionals with a robust showplace that highlighted the latest offset, digital and wide-format printing products. Xplor on the other hand, has a legacy of being at the forefront of electronic document technologies while providing variable-data and IT oriented educational curricula. Over the years, these once parallel parts of the industry have converged as offset printers are looking to expand into new markets and service offerings, while transactional document providers are reaching into commercial printing markets. Together, the combination of the two events, with both strong exhibit and conference components, will provide attendees with exposure to the newest products for 2006 on the exhibit floor and the educational programs needed to be successful in the changing market through 225-plus educational sessions and forums spanning five days. Exhibition Highlights With a strong foundation in offset printing equipment and consumables, Graphics of the Americas 2006 will offer a massive expansion of digital products and technologies in their Definitely Digital Highway, On Demand Book Making Factory and Wide Format Hall exhibition areas that are focused on attending printers. In addition, the exhibition will feature the Adobe Theatre, Design City and Printer’s Showcase areas geared towards creative, marketing and advertising professionals. Electronic document industry attendees will also find a broad base of software, mailing, transactional printing and IT-related solutions as well. Together, attendees will be exposed to products and technologies representing over 500 vendors covering more than 500,000 square feet at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Seven Conferences under One Roof For the first time, the event will host Xplor’s Global Document Exchange featuring traditional electronic document curricula plus six additional conferences for a total of seven events all under one roof. Xplor’s document conference will offer nine tracks covering 130 sessions and with the addition of six additional conferences, attendees can choose from over 225-plus educational sessions and forums, spanning 5-days. Xplor’s document conference will focus on both transactional and traditional topics including the document lifecycle from concept through design, production through distribution, and archival through re-application, as well as new topics including human resources and business development tracks. The content is designed to appeal to both management and technical audiences. The various tracks will feature a combination of user experiences, tutorials and product comparisons required to evaluate current and future needs. Together, both Graphics of the Americas and Xplor have developed the co-located events for printers, high-volume variable data, creative and IT professionals.
