(Boston, MA -- The Boston Litho & Craftsman's Club will host the 29th Annual Gallery of Superb Printing on Tuesday, May 9th, 2006, in Burlington, MA. This special event brings public recognition to the fine printing done in New England. It will be the third year that the Club will be joined by the Printing & Publishing Council of New England for presentation of the annual Ben Franklin Award. Call for Entries The Club recently announced its Call for Entries for this important industry event. Printers throughout New England are invited to submit their best work produced between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2005, for award consideration. All entries must be submitted by January 18, 2006. Each winner for first, second, and third place as well as honorable mention will receive a framed award in recognition of printing excellence. Ben Franklin Award Winner: Frank Romano The Ben Franklin Award is given to an individual who has demonstrated a generous and exemplary interest in the graphic arts for a substantial period of time. The 2006 Ben Franklin Award will be given to industry expert Frank Romano. Romano, Professor Emeritus of RIT and world-renowned author and speaker, is a native son of New England with deep roots in the local and national graphic arts industry. In addition, New England graphic arts scholarship recipients will be recognized during the evening's program. Each year the Printing & Publishing Council of New England awards nearly $100,000 in scholarship money to students throughout New England – making it one of the largest scholarship programs of its type anywhere in the country.
