France's La Redoute Leverages Exstream's Dialogue To Forge Closer Ties With Customers

Press release from the issuing company

Exstream Software, Inc. announced today that La Redoute, the leading catalog sales company in France, is using its Dialogue enterprise personalisation software to create, manage and deliver over 150 million personalised invoices, mailings, labels, paychecks, and marketing documents annually. Using Dialogue, La Redoute (a subsidiary of PPR, which has 82,000 employees and 2004 annual revenues of 17.8 billion Euros) has completely re-engineered its invoice creation process to be more flexible and rapid, and has provided marketing the ability to double their personalised communications to customers. Further, Dialogue allows La Redoute to create its documents in the standard European A4 format rather the previous custom format, significantly reducing printing costs. La Redoute initially selected Dialogue for its outstanding document processing performance, user-friendly graphic interface, multi-channel delivery capabilities (AFP, PDF, PCL, etc.), and ability to dynamically position variable images. “Exstream’s software achieves processing performance we never dreamed of,” says Jean-Pierre Klima of the Department of Application Architecture at La Redoute. “Advanced functionality that is usually offered as an option with other software is included in the Dialogue solution. Dialogue allows us to be prepared for tomorrow, when we will have to increasingly disseminate our communications by multiple channels instead of just traditional print/mail delivery.” In the future, La Redoute expects to import pre-printed documents into Dialogue and use its PDF output capability for electronic proofing before production, further simplifying the document approval process. The company also intends to leverage Dialogue’s sorting, bundling and consolidation capabilities with AFP output to conform to France’s Tem’Post standard, further reducing postage costs. “The deployment of Dialogue as its single platform for creating and managing personalised documents has permitted La Redoute to meet and exceed the increasingly complex requirements of its customers,” says Jean-Jacques Joly, managing director of Exstream France & Southern Europe. “We are proud to provide France’s leader in direct catalog sales with a software solution that will allow them to continually meet new competitive challenges.”
