Torrance, CA (November 22, 2005) — Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association, today reported a highly successful attendance for their recent Vision 2005 Conference that took place November 11-13, 2005 at the Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida. The conference organizers are happy to report that overall, the 3-day conference exceeded their expectations with a 12% increase in attendance for their leadership conference over the previous year and a 32% increase over projections for their professional development conference. For the first time, Xplor opened the conference up to all industry professionals from the electronic document and commercial printing industries as well as to all communications professionals. In addition, the conference included a full day session dedicated to professional development, lead by keynote speaker David A. Goldsmith, consultant, speaker, author, coach, and entrepreneur, as well as co-founder of the Goldsmith Organization, LLC and MetaMatrix Consulting Group, Inc. Providing the audience with the secrets of Dynamic Leadership, a style of management that maximizes time and efforts while managing and building teams, Mr. Goldsmith captivated the audience with blend of wit and humor that held the attendees interest for the entire day. “Xplor’s Vision conference was a good opportunity for sharing information between regions and to see what other are doing,” said Angie Winn, senior director of technical services at Group1 Software, A Pitney Bowes Company.” In addition, I was able to learn and takeaway a number of best practices, many of which apply directly to my work.” Following Friday’s session began Xplor’s two-day leadership program designed for, but not limited to, Xplor members and focused on managing and growing their regional and chapter memberships. Saturday, attendees found themselves with a number of choices for concurrent sessions with topics ranging from social networking, getting visibility for your region or chapter, a look at different membership models, effective recruitment and retention and various leadership styles. On Sunday, attendees could enjoy a half-day of additional sessions on what it takes to be a leader, a review of member benefits, effective communication, meeting planning, taking control of one’s career and challenges facing volunteer-based organizations. Sessions were delivered by a combination of vendors as well as from senior Xplor members, many of which are industry executives and experts in their fields.
