ABB automation systems selected for MAN Colorman XXL presses

Press release from the issuing company

Baden, Switzerland, 10th November, 2005: ABB’s Center of Excellence for Printing, based in Baden, Switzerland, has announced a further sales success for its Master Printing System (MPS) automation systems. The Schleswig-Holsteinischer Zeitungsverlag (sh:z), based in Rendsburg in northern Germany, has selected ABB automation systems for its new MAN Colorman XXL triple-width press. "We’re delighted that sh:z's experiences with the ABB systems and workflow on their existing presses have been so positive that ABB was selected again - without hesitation," says Wolfgang Felber, Head of ABB's Printing Business. The Schleswig-Holsteinischer Zeitungsverlag (sh:z) is the second owner of this new press type to select ABB. The first was Presse-Druck in Ausburg, Germany. At sh:z the scope of ABB's supply includes two MPS Control Consoles, a gateway to MAN’s PECOM controls as well as the integration with the existing MPS Production press management system, MPS Inform production analysis system, and MPS PlateWorkflow. The press and all associated systems will go into production in September 2006.
