CGS Initiative Provides Standards-Based Proofing at an Attractive Price

Press release from the issuing company

Hainburg, Germany (October 18, 2005) -- Mindful of the changing nature of the proofing market, CGS Publishing Technologies International has introduced a number of competitively-priced proofing system packages. The initiative emphasizes the growing need for out-of-the-box proofing to industry standards, including FOGRA, ECI and PPA’s “proof4press.” The latest version of ORIS Color Tuner includes new and enhanced tools, such as the FOGRA step wedge, updated Pantone and HKS libraries, as well as pre-configured color profiles for FOGRA, SWOP and other common industry specifications. “Today’s proofing system users require repeatable quality, based on accepted industry standards and specifications,” said CGS’ European sales director Heiner Müller. “The systems must be simple and intuitive, and yet allow for close color matching to accepted industry specifications. Now that we have included more industry profiles and other tools in the standard ORIS Color Tuner package, we believe our customers are receiving a tremendous value for their money. Our paper offerings, including several new, nano-porous substrates, all without optical brighteners, also provide a tremendous advantage, at a very reasonable investment.” The new ORIS Color Tuner package is intended for prepress shops and printers with moderate proofing needs, using one or two inkjet devices. It replaces ORIS Color Tuner Light. The higher-end package, Color Tuner Professional, is still available.
